Ram Unveils Warlock, Rebel and Power Wagon Updates – Kelley Blue Book

Ram introduced a new off-road truck this week. In fact, Ram demonstrated a whole stable of them. The RHO got all the headlines. It’s all new and at least temporarily replaces the top dog TRX. But not every off-road enthusiast wants the largest dog or the expense of caring for and feeding it. So Ram has a whole range of off-road offerings.

The company didn’t completely redesign the Ram 1500 for the 2025 model year. But they’ve updated it so comprehensively that you’d think they had. New variants include a luxurious Ram Tungsten and the plug-in hybrid Ramcharger, which functions like a diesel-electric train, giving you the unmatched torque of electric motors and the unmatched range of gasoline engines.

Additional variants include updates for the Warlock, Power Wagon, Rebel and Rebel Heavy Duty.

Ram’s cheapest off-road truck starts at $56,255 (including the mandatory $1,995 destination charge).

It “pays homage to the original Warlock pickups of the 1970s,” says Ram, with Warlock details on the hood and side panels, a black exterior badging, black tow hooks and a dual exhaust with matching black tips. More recently, Ram also offered a Warlock version of its 1500 Classic, the previous generation of the 1500 – and cheaper – truck, which it sold alongside the latest generation.

The latest Warlock rides an inch higher than standard Ram 1500 models and is protected by skid plates. But it keeps its price low, with a respectable old-school interior, including cloth seats, a 7-inch driver instrument screen, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen.

Under the hood sits the Hurricane Standard Output 3.0-liter inline-six engine with 420 horsepower and 469 pound-feet of torque.

The 2025 Ram Rebel starts at $66,190 delivered.

The Rebel also gets an inch more ride height. However, for more off-road capability, Bilstein shock absorbers are installed front and rear as well as a softer rear stabilizer bar.

Inside, it has a 14.5-inch central touchscreen and a 10.25-inch passenger screen that is not visible from the driver’s seat.

New for 2025 is a Rebel-X package celebrating the Rebel’s tenth anniversary. It adds Rough Road Cruise Control, which “allows the driver to set a cruising speed on a rough, unpaved road.” It also features premium leather bucket seats with the Rebel X logo, red accent stitching, a panoramic sunroof, a heated steering wheel and a power liftgate.

Ram revived the 1940s Power Wagon name for a more rugged version of its Ram 2500 in 2005. It will continue until 2025, with a starting price of $70,465, including the $1,995 delivery fee.

The Power Wagon hitting dealers soon will carry the 2024 model year designation, not 2025, as Ram still hasn’t given its heavy-duty trucks an update to match what the 1500 just received.

The Power Wagon features more than two inches of travel, Bilstein shocks, and modified control arms and spring rates to make it off-road capable. A switchable stabilizer bar – Ram describes it as a class-exclusive among heavy-duty trucks – allows the front axle to move independently of the frame when necessary.

“Other improvements include limited-slip differentials and a 12,000-pound weight. WARN Zeon-12 winch with synthetic line, giving this Leviathan a significant advantage over all stock pickups,” says Ram.

Although Ram has moved to inline-six engines for many applications, the Power Wagon retains its 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with an 8-speed automatic transmission and is mated to a Borg Warner BW 44-47 partial manual transmission case.

Rebel Heavy Duty

Ram will also offer a heavy-duty version of the Rebel for 2025, starting at $70,990, including shipping.

The Power Wagon’s V8 is standard equipment, and the WARN winch is available as an option. But it’s also available with a standard-output Cummins 6.7-liter turbodiesel 6-cylinder engine that produces 370 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque.

The Rebel features “a unique off-road suspension, locking rear differential and rear electronic locker, 20-inch wheels (optional 18-inch wheels), 33-inch off-road tires and skid plates that protect the fuel tank.” Transfer case,” says Ram.

All Ram HD models have a five-link coil suspension, but Rebel HD buyers can choose an optional rear air suspension.

The Rebel HD borrows the Power Wagon’s bodywork but adds a sports hood. Inside, buyers can choose from three different seating options, including a fabric bench or bucket seat, a Bristol leather bench or bucket seat, and a full Natura Plus leather bucket seat.
