Keke Palmer And SZA are teaming up to star in a new buddy comedy produced by Issa Rae.
Although the project currently has no title, Rap Sh!t director Lawrence Lamont is set to direct and the script will be written by Rap Sh!t Showrunner Syreeta Singletonaccording to a deadline Report published on Friday, April 26th.
In addition to starring in the film, Palmer, 30, will also serve as an executive producer for her company Big Boss, while SZA (real name Solána Imani Rowe) will make her first acting debut in a feature film.
Palmer confirmed the news via Instagram on Friday, reposting a screenshot of it deadline Headline.
“Can’t wait!!!” the former Nickelodeon star captioned the snap, which drew tons of comments from fans and fellow celebrities.

A separate social media user added: “Here for it! You already have great chemistry.”
The Hustlers star and SZA, 34, previously graced the Saturday Night Live appeared on stage together in December 2022, with Palmer hosting and SZA serving as musical guest.
The casting news comes after Palmer hinted in an interview with that he was stepping away from the spotlight TeenVogue in January, almost a year after she gave birth to son Leo with her ex Darius Jackson.
“I think the timer has started,” she told the outlet. “I think it’s because I just haven’t felt it yet. But the timer, I know it’s coming up soon. I don’t know exactly when, but it’s just around the corner.”
Palmer rose to prominence with her first major film role in 2004 Barbershop 2: Back in business. After signing a deal with Atlantic Records in 2005, the young star made her acting breakthrough as Akeelah Akeelah and the bee in 2006.
Since then she has appeared in numerous productions, including the Nickelodeon series Real Vice President of JacksonShowtime’s Master of sex, Scream Queens And Hustlers Opposite Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu And Cardi B.
Palmer also made history after winning an Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host at this year’s awards ceremony, becoming the first Black woman to be nominated and win in that category. She started to moderate it password Restart in 2022.
Although SZA is a newbie in the acting world, the Lana The artist is a 24-time Grammy Award nominee and has received four Grammys. At the 2024 ceremony, he won awards for Best R&B Song, Best Progressive R&B Album and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
