James Harden Finally Found a Restaurant Willing to Carry His Wine

Are you looking for traditional flavors with a Japanese flair, a stunning lounge with a live DJ, bowling alleys, an exotic hookah, a nightclub and limitless J. Harden Wine Prosecco in a convenient, stylish one-stop shop? Then look no further than Thirteen Houston, James Harden’s new restaurant venture.

As the only wine critic brave enough to review/include the J. Harden Cab SavI want nothing more than to enjoy a tasting menu of Far Eastern-inspired delicacies from Beard.

I mean, easy Check out this description on the website:

“Thirteen Houston deftly combines traditional flavors with Japanese flair, fine dining and a great time. From our state-of-the-art restaurant and terrace to our stunning lounge with live DJ, exotic hookah and innovative drinks, you’re sure to enjoy Thirteen. We also offer a unique nightclub, better known as “The Basement”, with spacious areas and a private area with a two-lane bowling alley and a private bar. We have taken the concept of fine dining and made it our own; #TheThirteenExperience.”

Aside from the unnecessary semicolon, checking out celebrity-endorsed restaurants is my favorite thing to do Guess which dishes are the namesake Requirements. In this case, it’s definitely the Thirteen Wings, of which there are actually six, smothered in jerk sauce, jerk seasoning, and pineapple pico. (There are no other Caribbean flavors on the menu, but I digress.) The other is the millionaire’s sando: braised beef, seared Hudson Valley foie gras, shokupam, truffle mayonnaise, caviar and shaved black truffles.

The wings stuck out like a zebra in an enclosure full of hot apps. Dumplings, dumplings, bao buns, wings? Oh, I know that. I have played “Which one is not like the other” before.

The Millionaire’s Sando was only slightly more difficult. It’s one of those dishes that owners of fine dining restaurants put on the menu for the sake of excess. Consider the Michael Scott loaded pretzel of dining experiences. I’m honestly a little shocked that the lobster wasn’t put in there.

As much as I would like to comment on the atmosphere, I can’t because I don’t know how close the live DJ and exotic hookah are to the dining area. Nothing says class like a nice salmon tiradito accompanied by flavored hookah smoke and house music. I guess G/O Media will just have to send me to Houston to experience the full #ThirteenExperience.

The original night-night celebration

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou decided to test his luck in the squared circle against Anthony Joshua after giving Tyson Fury everything he could in his boxing debut. For Francis, the result this time was much less impressive.

Phew! If only everyone A would-be boxer could be exposed this way against a trained professional.
