Ask the average person what a high-profile actor should do Join the MCU not that, and Giancarlo Esposito will be one of the most common answers. People wanted that breaking Bad Star has been rumored to be a part of the superhero franchise for years, and it looks like they’re finally getting their wish – but only to a point.
During a panel discussion at CCXP this weekend in Brazil, Esposito revealed that he will appear in a future MCU project. Of course, he didn’t comment on which role, but described the role as “better than you can imagine” and a role that will likely be announced soon. He also revealed that the character he plays isn’t one of the characters people like to think of him as, which seems like another way of saying that it won’t be Professor X in the upcoming X-Men films .
Let’s assume that “soon” means “San Diego Comic-Con” and name some potential venues for him. As far as the movie goes, that’s the only real choice we have Fantastic Four, Deadpool and Wolverine, And blade. We know Galactus will be part of the former, and Esposito certainly has the voice for him, if not a male version of the Silver Surfer, similar to Laurence Fishburne in 2007. Dead Pool is a little trickier, since it’s assumed that he’s not just a variant of Professor in the film Doctor Strange 2 handled Reed Richards), he could be a minor villain like Mr. Sinister (for the movie). And in blade? Well, since he can’t just be another version of Blade alongside Mahershala Ali, we’re only left with Whistler or Dracula as real options.
Of the candidates listed above, Galactus seems to be the most likely answer. Not only would it add to Esposito’s already extensive voice acting role, it’s also the role of a major villain who would likely show up again in something like this What if? or another film later. The same reasoning applies to Silver Surfer or Blade, but these come with caveats: if Fantastic Four If Norrid Radd had shown up, it probably wouldn’t be long ago Shalla Bal by Julia Garner should be more prominent. And although it would be cool if he bit throats and rocked black leather in them Blade, this movie seems cursed and would probably lose him once it got him.
