Zach And Tori Roloff have officially retired from their family’s reality show, Small people, big world, after 25 seasons. Zach, the 33-year-old son of Amy Roloff And Matt Roloffhas been with the show since it began in 2006.
On Tuesday, the TLC series celebrated another season finale, which also marked Zach and Tori’s exit amid ongoing family tensions.
During the episode, Amy and husband Chris Marek eat together and Chris asks if things are “thawing out” between Zach and Matt.
“I don’t know,” Amy admits. “Of course he’s the father and grandfather, but I don’t think they’ll ever look at it in that kind of father-son bonding relationship.”
Amy adds in a sideline interview, “I don’t really know what kind of relationship or anything the kids have with their dad now, especially with all the farm stuff going on now, especially with Jeremy and Zach. And that’s it.” something they can work on.
Ex-partners Amy and Matt share children Zach (33), Jeremy (33), Molly (30) and Jacob (27). Zach’s siblings all left the show before his departure.
The mother of four says she is “glad” to have a relationship with all of her children, saying: “That’s what I’m happy about.”
Chris notices that Amy’s children don’t visit much and suggests moving to Idaho, where his family is from. Amy hesitates, noting that Zach and Tori’s move has changed their dynamic.
Later in the episode, Matt and his fiancée Caryn Chandler talk about building a playground on their property. When Caryn notices that Zach and Tori and their kids are no longer coming over, Matt replies, “I always hope that Zach and Tori bring the kids, and if not, the kids will come over later in life.”
Caryn adds, “I think we just agreed that they don’t want a relationship and we have to accept that.”
In a side interview, Caryn adds that she still loves Zach and Tori’s children, saying, “Just because it ends sadly now doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. I hold on to these memories. I don’t know.” The future doesn’t look bright at the moment but I won’t give up hope just because we missed a few years, there are always relationships that need to be rebuilt.
Zach goes blackberry picking with his kids and thinks about how different his childhood will be from theirs.
“Growing up on the farm, I spent a lot of time outdoors and I definitely want our children to have the same experience,” says Zach. “The farm has been a part of my life and will not be a part of our children’s lives like mine. Nobody holds grudges, nobody intentionally doesn’t go to the farm. There’s just no interest. The children don’t ask.”
As for his relationship with his father, Zach says, “The ship has completely sailed. There is not much relationship. We just do our own thing. Time may even out, but everything will heal, it will just be different.” ”
Tori also talks about her family’s life apart from the older Roloffs.
“I think we’ve created a life here that I don’t think could have been created anywhere else,” she said. “I think we found an independence and we just found our own space. This is ours and it has nothing to do with anyone else.”
This moment marked the couple’s final scene on the TLC series.
Zach and Tori, who are parents to children Jackson, 6, Lilah, 4, and Josiah, almost 2, have been estranged from Zach’s father Matt for several years due to the drama surrounding the sale of the family farm.
The couple first confirmed they were leaving the show on their Reach higher heights Podcast in February.
“We are not [coming back], and we made that pretty clear last cycle,” Zach said at the time. “This last cycle was tough between the family, the farm deal and we’re done with it. “We’ve moved on.
He added: “I think the chapter is closed, whether we were asked back or not. We’ve made it pretty clear that we’re done with this chapter for a number of reasons, which we’ll go into in more detail here.”
In 2022, Zach spoke about their future on the showtells ET, “We take it day by day or week by week or month by month, so we take it step by step… Every year we kind of reevaluate where we are and whether we’re having more positive results.” Things you can share.
