The 2024 World Snooker Championship takes place in Sheffield from April 20 to May 6 and Ronnie O’Sullivan is aiming for a record eighth title.
O’Sullivan won the World Championship in 2022, equaling Stephen Hendry’s record of seven Crucible crowns, and enters the 2024 event having won five titles so far this season, including the Masters and UK Championship for a record eighth each .
The Rocket are in the quarterfinals for the 22nd time and could face Judd Trump in the semifinals, a repeat of the 2022 final.

Where is the Snooker World Championship taking place?
The Crucible Theater in the heart of Sheffield has hosted the World Cup every year since 1977 and the venue’s current contract runs until 2027.
O’Sullivan recently told it The sun that he would like to see the World Cup moved and suggests Saudi Arabia and China as alternatives.
What do you get if you take a break of 147 maximum?
Each player who takes a maximum break at the World Cup will receive £40,000, with £14 achieved over the years – including two in the 2023 tournament.
Kyren Wilson achieved the feat in the opening round before Selby became the first player to hit 147 in a final in his 18-15 loss to Brecel.
