One thing that many people in India miss when driving is patience. They often drive so recklessly that an accident occurs. This impatient behavior and lack of discipline in traffic even leads to unrest on the road. Here we have one such incident where a Royal Enfield driver crashed into a Tata Punch after trying to overtake an autorickshaw on a bend.
The video was shared on various social media platforms. The exact location of the crash is not known. The entire incident was recorded on a surveillance camera pointed at the street. We see a vehicle driving down a narrow, single-lane road. First an autorickshaw drives across the street.
Just as the car was passing by, we see another autorickshaw coming from the opposite direction. The camera is aimed at a curve. It’s a small curve, but if you’re not careful you risk colliding with other vehicles. Directly behind the car we see a Royal Enfield biker. The driver slows down the closer he gets to the curve.
The biker saw this as an opportunity and turned the motorcycle to the right to overtake. He had no idea that the Maruti Brezza was coming from the opposite direction. The driver of Maruti Brezza could not recognize the biker as he was behind the car. The Brezza hit the bike.
The biker was probably scared and lost control almost immediately. The bike strayed into the oncoming lane and before the cyclist could recover from the initial accident, the bike crashed into a Tata Punch coming from the opposite direction. Both the rider and the pillion passenger were thrown from the motorcycle. We can see both of them standing on the side of the road almost immediately after the accident. It was a low-speed accident, which is probably why they escaped uninjured.
Both men were very lucky to escape uninjured as a truck came up right behind the Punch. The truck driver also stopped and got out to check on the passengers. The Brezza driver had also stopped the car and came out to check if the drivers were okay. In this case, the bikers were entirely to blame.
The cyclist should have been much more careful and patient while driving. It also appears that both the rider and pillion were not wearing riding helmets. You should never ride a motorcycle without a helmet.
A riding helmet often protects you from head injuries in the event of an accident. Also, never overtake on a blind curve. If you cannot see a vehicle or the road in front of your vehicle, do not overtake.
This situation could have been avoided very easily. The driver just had to stay calm and stay in his lane. The driver had only slowed down to make way for Brezza, who was coming from the opposite direction. After passing the Brezza, the driver continued driving.
