Katrina Kaif, a reigning Bollywood star who was last seen in Merry ChristmasShe recently revealed that she had to turn down a Hollywood offer due to unforeseen circumstances. Despite the setback, Kaif remains optimistic about the prospects in the West. In an interview with Variety, Kaif expressed her belief that a Hollywood role is inevitable and will be a significant turning point in her career.
Katrina Kaif recently turned down Hollywood offer: “I believe it will happen and I think it will be a whole new chapter for me.”
In the interview, it was revealed that she had received an offer from Hollywood but had rejected it. “I really believe it’s going to happen, and I think it’s going to be a whole new chapter in my book, so to speak, and really exciting,” Kaif said.
Kaif’s filmography includes numerous commercially successful Bollywood films, cementing her position as a top actress. However, the actress acknowledges the evolving landscape of Indian cinema where star-led blockbusters are currently dominating the box office.
In the same interview, she opened up about her journey into the film industry in India and added, “I think my first foray was in a South Indian film, actually a Telugu film [2004 rom-com Malliswari where she plays the titular role of a wealthy heiress]. And from there I started gaining experience in front of the camera and then slowly progressed by meeting directors and producers. I felt like I had done what I wanted to do in the modeling industry. I felt like, “Okay, I got the scene.” I had some goals and intentions and I achieved them. And for me, the films were my desire and my heart.”
“I have always put the audience first and have tried to do so in my decisions throughout my career. And now I think it’s about finding a balance: what story do I think will appeal to the audience? And what am I connecting with personally and as an actor right now? What gives me growth? What will give me satisfaction? This is exactly what I want to do now,” said Kaif.
On the work front, Katrina Kaif was last seen in Sriram Raghavan Merry Christmas with Vijay Sethupathi. She hasn’t announced her next project yet.
