Kate Hudson Opens up About Why She Found ‘Glee’ to Be a ‘very Dramatic Set’

Kate Hudson looks back on her time Joy – and she has thoughts.

In the latest episode of her Sibling festival Podcast with brother Oliver Hudson, who the duo speaks to Joy star Jenna Ushkowitzwho played Tina Cohen-Chang in the series, and about the set – which Hudson described as “dramatic”.

Hudson, 45, appeared in a total of five episodes in the fourth season of the hit Fox series as Lea Michele’s character Rachel Berry and no-nonsense dance teacher Cassandra July.

“It was a very dramatic set,” Hudson says. “Well, you know, when you have all these personalities and all this talent and all this youth and a lot of hormones… it’s youthful and young.”

Ushkowitz attributed the experience to the cast spending a lot of time together during filming and touring.

“We were all very close,” he said Joy Alum stocks. “And yes, we had our arguments, but we were truly a family and it was easier to get along than not. And as dramatic as it was, there are so many moving parts to our show and so many cast members and so many personalities.”

Hudson agrees: “I think it was because you were all so close and the show was so huge. So you’re all this young little family, and of course you have everything that goes with it.” “

Hudson, who has worked in the entertainment industry for over two decades, said the amount of talent and young people standing up for themselves in one room created “a fun drama.”

Ushkowitz shared her experiences working on the podcast.

“It’s strange and cathartic and therapeutic at the same time,” she says. “There’s enough time and space apart from that that I feel like I’m seeing it from a fan’s perspective rather than all the baggage that came with the show.”
