Mahmoud and Nicole dramatic fight finally seemed to reach its climax in Sunday’s episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, as Nicole searched for Mahmoud on the streets of Los Angeles after he ran away. “When Mahmoud starts to break down, I feel like he’s being more honest about his feelings for the first time since he’s been here,” she told the cameras. “And I feel like I can actually reach him on an emotional level at this point. And I feel like those tears indicate that he is capable of change and moving forward.”

Mahmoud agreed to stay in Nicole’s apartment, but Nicole said he wouldn’t sleep in her bed and set up his own room in her living room. She also told him that he couldn’t stop her from becoming an American and that he had to learn to be a Muslim in the United States.
“Just because you don’t participate in it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist,” she told him of things like drinking alcohol.
Mahmoud told the cameras that when Nicole was in Egypt, she always felt like he was controlling her and doing something bad to her, so he felt like she was trying to show that she now had the power. He told Nicole that he didn’t feel any love or respect from her now. Nicole said she would give him time to figure out what he wanted to do with his life, whether he should stay with her or return to Egypt. He thanked her for giving him a place to stay.
“I won’t try to bother you while I’m here,” he told her.
Mahmoud said he needed time to think and even if he didn’t end up with Nicole, she was still important to him.
“She’s about four years of my life,” he said. “I still love Nicole. I don’t want to make a quick decision when I’m angry because if I leave, I’ll never come back.”
