Jenelle Evans has decided to homeschool her two youngest children. The 32 year old Teen Mom 2 The star shared on social media that she would be homeschooling her 9-year-old son Kaiser Griffith and 7-year-old daughter Ensley Eason during the final month of school.
“Life update, basically I have taken my kids out of school for the rest of the school year and will be homeschooling them,” Jenelle shared in a new video on Instagram and TikTok. “Why? Because I found out her school isn’t safe. I won’t elaborate.”
Jenelle said she wanted to “protect her” and “keep my eye on her,” adding, “Yeah, I think that’s exactly what’s best for her right now. Life has been way too stressful for us and I feel like they need a break so we are homeschooling. It will be fun.
The former MTV star added that she regularly takes her two youngest children on educational trips to the aquarium and shared snaps of her day at the local children’s museum.
A commenter asked if her 14-year-old son Jace was also being homeschooled, and Jenelle responded with a laughing emoji, “No, he hates it.”
Jenelle’s comments received a variety of reactions. Some praised her for spending more time with her children, others said she was not qualified to homeschool them.
When a commenter claimed that Jenelle had not yet completed her year of college, she screenshotted the comment and posted it to her Instagram Stories with photos of herself at her Medical Assisting College graduation in 2015. She wrote, “Umm…. What did you say again?”
It’s been a turbulent time in Jenelle’s personal life, as she revealed in March officially filed for separation by her husband David Eason. In North Carolina, where Jenelle lives, former couples must be separated for a year before they can legally divorce.
Since their split, Jenelle has posted several videos poking fun at the divorce, including a TikTok in which she expresses some anti-love lines from Kristen Wiig Bridesmaids Character, Writing: “Going through a divorce is like…”
Jenelle tied the knot with David in September 2017 and they share Ensley. Jenelle is also mother to son Jace with ex Andrew Lewis and Kaiser with ex Nathan Griffith.
Jenelle and David had a tumultuous relationship that included several legal battles and allegations that David shot Jenelle’s French bulldog, Nugget, in 2019. The situation led to Jenelle being fired Teen Mom 2 after David was fired back in 2018 for his allegedly homophobic tweets.
Jenelle has had many problems throughout her time Teen Mom 2, endured a series of tumultuous relationships and openly battled substance abuse. Early in Jace’s life, Jenelle gave custody of her son to her mother, Barbara Evans.
After years of ups and downs with her mom, Jenelle finally got custody of Jace in early 2023 — but things didn’t go smoothly from there.
Jace ran away from home several times in August and September last year. At the time, Jenelle claimed the incidents stemmed from Jace’s frustration after she and David took his phone away from him.
at the end of last month, Jenelle appeared on TikTok that Child Protective Services had dropped the case against her and David and that Jace had been returned to her home.
“All allegations against me and my husband have been officially dropped,” Jenelle continued Tick tock. “CPS has accepted a voluntary discharge.”
“With this case being dismissed, my focus is on Jace’s mental health and I now want to focus solely on his mental health,” she continued. “At the moment I will not reveal any details about what happened in this case, but it will be revealed at some point and soon. Just not now. It’s not the best time.”
