What, $99,000 Isn’t Enough? Toyota Dealer is Asking $107,000 for the 2024 Land Cruiser

  • A Virginia Toyota dealer has listed a 2024 Land Cruiser for a whopping $107,169.
  • That’s a $30,000 markup over MSRP, the largest dealer adjustment we’ve seen to date.
  • We’ve previously reported on dealers in California increasing the price of their Land Cruiser by as much as $21,000, but none made it into six figures.

Last month we were shocked to learn that some dealers (mainly in California) were adding big markups to the price of the new Toyota Land Cruiser. A Virginia shop is on a mission to prove that West Coast drivers aren’t the only ones who can add huge bonuses to their SUVs.

The biggest markup we’ve found so far goes to Koons Tysons Toyota in Vienna, Virginia, which recently hit deep six figures with a 2024 Land Cruiser, listing the vehicle for $107,169. With a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of just $77,169, that’s a whopping $30,000 premium.

More: Greedy Toyota dealers are slapping ridiculous markups of up to $21,000 on the 2024 Land Cruiser

When we last reported on dealer adjustments for the 2024 Land Cruiser, markups ranged from about $15,000 to $21,000, and asking prices (before taxes and other surcharges) never rose higher than $100,000, but this dealer in Virginia goes to another level.

Unfortunately, Toyota dealers are hardly the only ones adjusting the prices of their vehicles. We’ve reported shocking price increases on a range of vehicles including the Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang, Hyundai Ioniq 5N and many more.

Let’s just say that the 2024 Land Cruiser’s return to the US presents a unique opportunity for some dealers to strategically position their pricing. After all, it’s not every day that an iconic off-roader comes back to market, capitalizing on the current craze for mud-slinging machines that helped make the Ford Bronco a success and convinced VW to ditch the Scout nameplate.

The model’s 2.4-liter four-cylinder hybrid engine produces 326 hp (243 kW) and 465 lb-ft (629 Nm) of torque, sending power to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The combination of handsome design, luxurious interior and impressive performance makes the new model the best Land Cruiser ever, according to Stephen Rivers, provided it has the same level of reliability associated with both the nameplate and the Toyota brand.

That all sounds great, but be warned: if you want to pay a reasonable price for a Land Cruiser, you may have to be patient and you’ll almost certainly have to shop around.
