Five-door Mahindra Thar Armada Gets ADAS: Details

Mahindra Automotive has been diligently testing the upcoming Thar five-door (Armada) in the country. Numerous spy pictures of this SUV have been spotted in many states. Recently, another test mule was spotted, which now revealed a new important detail. This test showed that the Thar five-door will most likely come with ADAS. The spy shots reveal the camera module for this security function.

These images of the Thar five-door with the ADAS camera system come courtesy of Rushlane. In these images, this particular test mule was seen refueling at a gas station. The attentive observer would see that there is a camera behind the IRVM. Most likely this is for the ADAS.

According to the reports, the company will offer the new Thar five-door (Armada) with the same ADAS system as the XUV700. For those who may not know, the XUV700 uses a camera and radar-based ADAS system. This is a very advanced Level 2 ADAS that has a number of important features.

Apart from this advanced active safety feature, the Thar five-door will most likely get a host of other safety features. This is because this SUV is aimed at family buyers who want to get into off-roading.

Let’s move on to the exterior design, which comes from both this current and previous test mules. The upcoming Thar five-door (or Armada – as this name has been registered) will feature some noticeable changes on the outside.

Otherwise, the rest of the exterior at the front will most likely be the same. The new additional doors with handles mounted on the C-pillar will particularly stand out in the side profile. It will also get a full metal roof and this test car also shows off the electric single-pane sunroof of this SUV.

We continue with the interior of the new Thar five-door. There will be a significantly larger 10.25-inch screen, which we have already seen on the XUV 400. This is the same screen that will be used in the upcoming XUV 3XO.
