  • The iCar 03 SUV will soon be joined by the more robust-looking 03T and the more traditional V23 off-roader.
  • iCar also showed the X25 – an all-electric crossover minivan with a futuristic look
  • The Chery-owned brand will launch eight new models by 2026 aimed at younger customers.

Chinese company iCar may have started with a flat GT concept, but its lineup is clearly focused on tough-looking electric vehicles. After launching its first production model – the iCar 03 SUV – in early 2024, the Chery-owned brand introduced the V23 off-roader, the X25 minivan and the 03T SUV.

Unveiled at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, the iCar 03T is based on the regular 03 but features several upgrades to improve its off-road capabilities. The highlight of the exterior are the wide fender flares with additional inlets next to the LED headlights, the larger and wider alloy wheels and the redesigned bumpers, which are intended to improve the angle off-road.

The attachments make the 03T slightly larger than the 03, measuring 4,432 mm (174.5 inches) long, 1,916 mm (75.4 inches) wide and 1,741 mm (68.5 inches) high. Ground clearance has been increased to 200 mm (7.9 in), while the wheelbase of 2,715 mm (106.9 in) is identical to the iCar 03.

The basics and drive options have been adopted. This means the 03T will be available in rear-wheel drive with a single electric motor producing 181 hp (135 kW / 184 hp) or dual-motor all-wheel drive with a combined output of 275 hp (205 kW / 279 hp).

The second model that made its public debut in Beijing is the iCar X25. Its unconventional design combines the single-box proportions of a futuristic minivan with an elevated stance and sturdy bumpers found on off-road vehicles. The result looks like a space exploration vehicle, making it hard to believe that this electric vehicle will make it into production.

The ultra-short overhangs and generous ground clearance indicate excellent off-road capability, especially when combined with all-wheel drive and the right set of tires. At the same time, the long wheelbase, high body and flat floor of the electric architecture promise a spacious interior with “flexible seating combinations”, making the X25 ideal for camper conversion. The company didn’t reveal any technical specifications, but said the substructure will provide “excellent handling and stability.”

The third model featured on the show is the iCar V23. This example successfully combines design features of popular off-road models such as the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, the Land Rover Defender and the classic Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. In Beijing, iCar showed a cool version of the V23 with a green hue and black steelies with grippy tires. The 4,220 mm (166.1-inch) long electric vehicle will be available in RWD and AWD variants and promises a range of up to 500 km (311 miles) thanks to a CATL-sourced battery pack and is equipped with Level 2+ ADAS capability .

Wanting to attract younger customers in China, iCar plans to launch eight new models by 2026 and divide its offering into three different groups. The 0 Series will focus on “exquisite technology,” the V Series will feature off-road styling, while the X Series will include single-box minivans.
