Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor was one of the most talented people in the Hindi film industry. Throughout his acting career, the actor never missed a chance to win the hearts of his fans with his acting talent. It was 1980 when Rishi married Neetu Kapoor. The duo has two children, Ranbir and Riddhima Kapoor, and both of them are settled well in their professional and personal lives. Recently, Riddhima revealed her father Rishi’s first meeting with her husband Bharat Sahni.

It was in 2006 when Riddhima Kapoor married the love of her life, Bharat Shani. After seven years of marital bliss, they welcomed their daughter Samara into their lives. In a recent interview, Riddhima went down memory lane and recalled how her father Rishi had reacted when he met Bhart Sahni for the first time. While speaking to Galatta India, Riddhima was asked about Bharat’s reaction when he had to meet Rishi Kapoor. She jokingly added, “Phatti padi thi iski!” Bharat added that he was intimidated by the late veteran actor.

Riddhima Kapoor recalls Bharat and Rishi Kapoor’s first meeting
In the interview, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni went a step further and revealed that on the first day, they all went to Piano Bar in Mumbai and Bharat was sweating like crazy when he had to meet Rishi Kapoor. Talking about it, Riddhima revealed that her father just stared at Bharat the whole evening and didn’t talk to Bharat. Talking more about it, Riddhima added:
“He had just had a few drinks and was sweating like crazy when he knew we had to meet my dad. We all went to the Piano Bar in Mumbai. The whole evening my father stood next to the piano and glared at Bharat, ‘Ki kaun hai bhai tu, upar se neeche dekh raha hai.’”

As the interview progressed, Bharat Sahni revealed that he felt a bit pressured that day. The businessman also thanked the women in the family, adding that he was able to break the ice with them. Talking about it, Bharat added that he and Rishi Kapoor didn’t exchange a word on the first day and only had some eye contact. Bharat also added that Rishi took his time and did not give in easily as Riddhima was the only daughter in the family. Bharat mentioned that he and Riddhima were given a few years and were told that if they felt that they were destined to be together, only then would they be married. Bharat explained:
“Since Riddhima is the only daughter, he took his time. He said to me, ‘You have a few years, and even after that, when you feel like you’re destined, we’ll marry you.’

In the same interview, Riddhima shared that her wedding was attended by several stars like Sridevi, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan and all of them performed and the reason was her father’s love and goodwill. Riddhima also added that their sangeet was a blast and everyone enjoyed it with heart and soul, making it feel like family.
