According to a report by India Today, police have tracked down two people, Sonu Subhash Chander, 37, and Anuj Thapan, 32, in the northern state of Punjab. These men are believed to have supplied the weapons used in the attack.

Mumbai Police, in collaboration with their counterparts in Gujarat, arrested two gunmen, Vicky Sahab Gupta and Sagar Shrijogendra Pal, soon after the incident. Further investigation led to Mumbai Police recovering two pistols, magazines and bullets from the Tapi river in Gujarat, which are suspected to be the weapons used in the attack.

On April 25, PTI reported that the two men arrested in connection with the recent shooting will remain in police custody until April 29. Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21), both from Bihar, were produced before a local court after their initial remand expired. The report said that Mumbai Police had sought an extension of her detention by four days, citing the need for further investigation into the motive behind the attack.

Lawyer Amit Mishra, representing the accused, argued against the extension, saying the weapon used in the shooting had already been recovered and his clients were cooperating fully in the investigation. After arguments from both sides, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate LS Padhen allowed the police’s request and extended the custody of Gupta and Pal till April 29.

Anmol Bishnoi, younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the shooting. The Bishnoi gang is reportedly involved in a long-running feud with Salman Khan stemming from a 1998 blackbuck poaching case.

Following the incident, authorities upgraded its existing security level Y-Plus, one of the highest security levels offered in India. In addition, Khan received permission to carry a personal firearm and reportedly purchased an armored vehicle for further protection.
