We found a post about the car that tells its story. According to the post, the Mercedes S600 W220 generation sedan belonged to a 53-year-old man who ran a chit fund organization.
In 2004, he fulfilled his dream of owning a luxury car. After some time, the police received a tip-off about the chit fund owner and his involvement in a black money case. Officers conducted a raid; However, the owner of the chit fund organization somehow managed to bribe the authorities and avoid trouble.
For him, however, the trouble wasn’t over yet. Government authorities became aware of his activities and he soon expected a crackdown from central or state authorities. Fearing a government crackdown, the owner of the car decided to leave the country. He drove the car to the place where we see it in these pictures. After that, he took an autorickshaw and went to the airport.
This happened in 2009 and since then the car has been lying on the side of the road under this tree. It’s not clear why police didn’t take the car to an impound lot. The condition of the car is really bad. The suspension on this car has completely collapsed.
The front bumper of the car is missing and the tires also look damaged. This car is missing the ORVMs and we can also see several dents on the fenders and other body parts. Not to mention the dust, bird droppings and dry leaves that have accumulated on the car over the years.
It is not clear from the pictures whether the interior is in the same condition as the exterior. If you look closely, the car shown here in the pictures is a sedan. It’s a rare car, but we don’t know if it was actually a factory sedan or if the owner actually had it converted into a sedan. The W220 sedan is indeed rare in India.
