Kim Kardashian Sits Down with Vice President Kamala Harris to Discuss Criminal Justice Reform at the White House (Video)

Kim Kardashian recently met with Vice President Kamala Harris to discuss justice reform.

According to the Associated Press, the Ks met for a roundtable on Thursday (April 25) to also discuss the Biden administration’s efforts to give prisoners a second chance.

The meeting

AP reports that President Biden pardoned 16 people who committed nonviolent drug offenses earlier this week. These individuals were sentenced to long prison sentences, much longer than the time they would have received under current law. Four of those pardoned were invited to the White House: Jason Hernandez, Beverly Robinson, Jesse Monsley and Bobby Lowery.

They met with Kim, Kamala and Steve Benjamin, director of the White House Office of Public Engagement. Individuals expressed that they were overcome with emotion upon hearing the good news. Additionally, they shared their career goals, including starting nonprofit organizations and real estate companies.

Kim and Kamala’s view on grace

The reality star stated that she was “honored” to hear their stories and express that “It’s so important to reinforce them.”

The Vice President expressed to the participants that she believed in this “Repayment.”

The former prosecutor continued: “…everyone makes mistakes, and for some it can reach the point of being a crime.”

Harris asked rhetorically whether society should allow convicts to do this “Earn your way back” And “Give them the support and resources they need to do this.”

Kim’s justice reform work

The SKIMS CEO first appeared at the White House during the Trump administration in 2018. Jared Kushner joined Kardashian at the time. According to CNN, they advocated for criminal justice reform.

Kim convinced Trump to commute Alice Marie Johnson’s life sentence. She was sentenced to 20 years in prison for a non-violent drug offense. However, she was released in June 2018. Additionally, she was granted a full pardon by former President Trump in 2020, according to CNN.

Things seem to be going wrong between Kimmie and Donnie. He recently referred to her as the “The most overrated star in the world” per The Daily Beast.

According to ABC News, Kardashian responded while appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” earlier this week. She noticed “…he did an amazing job with prison reform.” And “Let a lot of people out.” so she decides to do it “focus on” The.
