Kendall Jenner did it again! The 28-year-old reality star and supermodel proved she’s still the one to beat at fashion’s biggest night as she walked the red carpet for the show at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday 2024 Met Gala.
Jenner chose a never-worn Givenchy archival piece designed by the late Alexander McQueen. According to the statement, the model is the first person to wear the dress since then FashionThe fall 1999 haute couture look was presented on mannequins and never shown on the runway.
Featuring a cutout waist, the dress is crafted from nude and black tulle and embellished with over 100,000 black and brass beads and sequins. According to the outlet, the hand embroidery took 500 hours to create.
This year’s Met Gala theme is “Sleeping Beauty: Fashion Resurgent.” The annual event – led by Fashion Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour – was a star-studded event where all attendees adhered to The Garden of Time dress code.
“It has been sleeping for the last 25 years. It’s literally a ‘Sleeping Beauty,'” Jenner tells the outlet. “It’s a very special moment. I feel very honored that they allow me to wear it.”
Jenner wasn’t allowed to tailor the dress because it was kept in pristine condition in Givenchy’s archives, but in the end it fit her “like a glove.”
“The rest is history,” says the ten-time gala attendee, “and in a way it really feels that way.”
Especially the supermodel’s ex, Bad bunnyis one of this year’s co-chairs alongside him Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez And Chris Hemsworth.
The exes split last December after dating for several months, but appear to be on good terms as they ring in the New Year together.
