Jimmy Allen speaks openly about the fallout from his sexual assault scandal.

In an interview shared via his YouTube channel on Tuesday, April 23, Allen, 38, sat down with him Kathie Lee Gifford to discuss his career and personal life, particularly the toll the sexual assault claims against him took on him.

“I sat there and literally felt like the whole world had just collapsed because the first thing on my brain is not career. This is how I’m going to take care of my kids,” the country singer shared. While sitting in a hotel room, Allen said he remembered his “suicide being covered by life insurance.”

He continued: “And I don’t feel that way now, but in that moment when you feel like you have nothing… in the midst of a society where you’re no longer innocent until proven guilty, you know, you are guilty.” She said that, so it must be true.” Allen was accused of sexual assault by his ex-manager in May 2023. A month later, another woman filed a separate sexual assault lawsuit against him.

Jimmie Allen has been accused of sexual assault twice. The country singer’s former manager filed a lawsuit against him in May 2023, a month after Allen, 38, and his pregnant wife Alexis Gale announced their separation after three years of marriage. The breakup news came at the same time as the announcement […]

“I remember transferring everything to a phone, all my evidence, pictures, text messages, videos and everything,” Allen told Gifford, 70. “And I remember putting bullets in my gun magazine.”

Allen said he “quit” after receiving a text message from a friend saying, “Quitting is not the answer.” He added, “I called one of my friends who lived in lower Delaware . He came up. I gave him my gun. I said, ‘Take it.’ I don’t need it.’ I remember my mom flying in and then I started getting calls from different artists reaching out to me and telling me they loved me, cared about me and knew who I was.”

After also receiving messages of support from some of “Hollywood’s biggest actors,” Allen noted he was “hurt” that some people he “expected” to hear from didn’t reach out to him during his dark time would have turned.

“It was hard. I was in this retreat for a while. Of course I did therapy. And then I remember fighting every day, ‘Do I want to live?’ Don’t I want to live?'” he shared. “I thought, ‘Man, my family would have X amount of dollars if I did it.’ [taken] take care of something.’ But I realized that wasn’t the right way.”

Allen explained that he “needed” the exit from the spotlight and credited it with saving his life. “I heal and grow for myself and my children.”

Last May, Allen’s ex-manager accused him of repeatedly raping and sexually abusing and harassing her. Allen denied the allegations and claimed they were in a consensual “sexual relationship.” A second woman claimed in a June 2023 lawsuit that Allen filmed a sexual assault on her in a Las Vegas hotel room a year earlier. Allen disputed her claims and filed a countersuit, claiming the woman “willingly” went to his hotel room. (Allen’s former manager dropped her lawsuit against him last month.)
