Taylor Swift‘s latest album is more than ever Donna Kelce‘s wildest dreams. After the release of the Grammy winner The Tortured Poets Department On April 19, Taylor, 34, received a rave review from her boyfriend Travis Kelceis mom.
“I listened to the whole album all morning when it came out,” Donna, 71, said PEOPLE in an interview published on Thursday, April 25. “I was just very impressed. She’s a very talented woman and I think it’s probably her best work.”
While much of Taylor’s 11th studio album is believed to revolve around her past relationships Joe Alwyn And Matty HealyMany Swifties believe there are some odes to her current romance with Travis, 34.
In “The Alchemy,” Taylor references football imagery to hint at the Kansas City Chiefs’ potentially successful NFL season.
“So when I land, call the amateurs and cut them from the team / Ditch the clowns, get the crown,” she sings. “Shirts come off and your friends lift you up over their heads / Beer sticks to the floor, cheers go out ’cause they say / ‘There was no chance of being the best in the league’ / Where’s the trophy? He just comes and runs towards me.”
Before Travis and the Chiefs won the 2024 Super Bowl, Taylor was able to cheer on her friend all season long. Sometimes she watched the game with his mother from a stadium suite.
Donna wasn’t on the soccer field this week. Instead, she traveled to Las Vegas to attend QVC’s Age of Possibility summit.
She has teamed up with QVC to become part of the network’s Quintessential 50, a group of inspiring women who illustrate the possibilities for women over 50. Kathie Lee Gifford, Queen Latifah, Jennie Garth, Martha Stewart And Sandra Lee are some of the familiar faces who also “offer fresh thinking to inspire and highlight all the possibilities this stage of life offers for women.”
Upon request from PEOPLE If she has any advice for Taylor about getting older, Donna replied: “She doesn’t need my advice on anything. In fact, I hope she gives me advice.”
This isn’t the first time Donna has addressed her son’s romance with one of the world’s greatest singers. When speaking with WSJ. magazine In November 2023, Donna said Travis was “happier than I’ve seen him in a long time…God bless him, he was shooting for the stars!”
