Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns in the 53rd match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024). The match will be played at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.
Both PBKS and CSK are in the playoff race and will be desperate to register a win today. While CSK is at the fifth position, PBKS is at the eighth position in the IPL 2024 points table. As the race for the playoffs heats up, neither team can afford any more slip-ups.
PBKS will enter the game with full confidence after registering two impressive wins in their last two games. After scoring a record 262 against Kolkata Knight Riders, PBKS defeated CSK by seven wickets in their last match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. It was PBKS’ fifth consecutive win against CSK and they will look to continue their winning streak today.
CSK, on the other hand, have struggled with their form of late and will be desperate to get their campaign back on track. Not long ago it seemed like they would easily make it to the playoffs. However, three defeats in their last four games have put them in trouble and they cannot afford any more slip-ups.

PBKS won the toss and elected to bowl first. PBKS captain Sam Curran said at the toss: “We will bowl. Day game, try to see how it plays and follow it. We have the same team. We had two really good wins with the same team. Conditions should be fairly consistent throughout, it’s all about batting, bowling and playing well.
CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad said: “We just stayed true to our process and did little things right. We don’t look at the opponent’s track record, we focus on ourselves and see what we can do right. There have been a lot of injuries, flux and forced substitutions this season so we have had to tinker with our squad, but winning 5 games is a positive replacement for Fizz.
