GenesisCare Expands with $35 Million Northern Beaches Cancer Center

GenesisCare has officially opened its new $35 million cancer center in the Northern Beaches with expanded services including a new radiation therapy offering and access to clinical trials for eligible patients.

Patients already have access to the evidence-based, personalized services that GenesisCare physicians offer at the new four-story facility, including radiation therapy, chemotherapy, hematology and immunotherapy. Pathology services from NSW Health Pathology are also available and diagnostic imaging will be available soon.

Richard Briggs, General Manager of NSW at GenesisCare, said: “We are delighted to be opening Northern Beaches’ first cancer center offering radiation oncology and medical oncology under one roof, with the aim of ensuring convenience and continuity of care for patients improve.”

“The successful move and expansion of our treatment services in our brand new Frenchs Forest building will create the capacity to provide around 14,000 patient treatments annually.

“GenesisCare is proud to develop this new community center that will complement local cancer services and provide patients with more treatment options closer to home.”

Head of Department and Medical Oncologist at GenesisCare’s Frenchs Forest Centre, Associate Professor Connie Diakos, said: “Our medical oncologists and haematologists have been providing individual care to the local community for more than a decade and we are proud to have expanded our offering.” so that patients requiring radiotherapy can receive this service in the same familiar location.

“It was around 1700I According to Cancer Institute NSW statistics, approximately 100,000 people were diagnosed with cancer in the Northern Beaches in 2021 and unfortunately cancer incidence is only expected to increase.

“GenesisCare provides access to treatment for most adult cancers and is committed to putting the patient at the center of our care and decision-making process and providing them with the right information. We welcome every referred patient who is interested in considering our services.”
