Former Amedisys CEO Appointed Chairman of Careforth; Aveanna Announces New Chief Legal Officer and Secretary

Careforth appoints new chief executive

Amedisys Inc. (Nasdaq: AMED) veteran Paul Kusserow serves as CEO of Careforth.

Careforth, based in Boston, is a platform to support family caregivers. The company recently announced its ability to reduce adverse health events and keep seniors out of more costly facilities.

Kusserow is currently also CEO of Amedisys. He is also CEO and co-founder of Healthpilot Technologies.

Aveanna Healthcare Holdings (Nasdaq: AVAH) has appointed Jerry Perchik as Chief Legal Officer and Secretary.

“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Jerry as Chief Legal Officer and Secretary,” Aveanna CEO Jeff Shaner said in a press release. “Jerry has a strong background in corporate law and extensive healthcare and regulatory experience. I have known Jerry for more than a decade and have great confidence in his leadership and advice. It is my pleasure to welcome Jerry to our Aveanna family and I look forward to working with him as we continue to grow and execute on our strategic plans.”

Aveanna is based in Atlanta and provides home health, hospice and pediatric care services in 33 states.

Perchik has more than 15 years of experience in corporate law – in the healthcare industry. Most recently, he served as Chief Legal Officer for MedQuest Associates.

“The board is pleased to appoint Jerry Perchik to lead our legal affairs team,” Rod Windley, Aveanna’s chief executive officer, said in the statement. “Having worked with Jerry in the past, I have great confidence in his legal expertise, regulatory knowledge and business leadership. New Director of Home Care Services Joins Androscoggin Home Health Care & Hospice

Androscoggin Home Health Care & Hospice has named Mathew Collins director of home care services.

Based in Maine, Androscoggin is a nonprofit operator that employs 500 people in all 16 counties in the state.

Before taking the time to pursue an MBA and additional certifications, Collins was the administrative director of the palliative care service line at Northern Light Health.

New Day Healthcare promotes from within

New Day Healthcare has promoted Debbie Weber to senior executive vice president of hospice operations.

“This promotion of Debbie, a proven leader, enables us to expand our business

“We will continue to expand our footprint at an ever-increasing pace,” New Day CEO G. Scott Herman said in a press release. “Debbie has a track record of growing major, multi-location, multi-state markets. She will oversee an average daily census of hospices in the high hundreds across four states. This organizational size is at the upper echelon of mid-sized providers and enables us to expand.”

New Day now has nearly 30 locations in Texas, Missouri, Kansas and Illinois. The company offers a variety of home care services. New Day serves nearly 110,000 patients annually.

Prior to her promotion, Weber led operations for New Day’s Phoenix Hospice.

Tomorrow Health is building its executive growth leadership team

Tomorrow Health has added three new executives to its leadership team.

Tomorrow Health is a New York-based startup that uses technology and other means to provide home care. This occurs through a network of providers, health systems and health plans.

The company has hired Gabriela Perez as chief growth officer; Craig Thompson as general manager and senior vice president of sales; and Peter Saul as director of vendor growth.

“The expansion of our growth team comes as we look to capitalize on significant demand from our corporate partners to enable high-quality home care,” said Vijay Kedar, founder and CEO of Tomorrow Health, in a press release. “Having Gabriella at the helm of a dynamic, tireless team – alongside Craig and Peter – will allow us to accelerate partnerships with health plans, providers and suppliers to deliver high-quality care to the patients who need it most .”

Perez previously served as chief commercial officer at Big Health. Most recently, Thompson was a consultant at Getlabs and Saul was a national accounts director at Butterfly Network Inc.
