The highly anticipated sequel to Salad: Part 1 – Truce Filming is set to begin soon. Released in December 2023, the film marked the first collaboration between Prabhas and Prashanth Neel. True to the title, the first part was always intended to be part of a larger story. The makers confirmed the title of the sequel before the release of the first film: Salaar Part 2: Shauryanga Parvam. Set in the dangerous city of Khansaar, Salad: Part 1 – Truce examined themes of friendship against a backdrop of violence.
Salaar 2 is gearing up to shoot with Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran in May 2024 in Hyderabad; Makers aim for December 2025 release: report
According to a report by Pinkvilla, a source close to the production revealed that the last three months were dedicated to refining the script based on the feedback from the first part. Shooting begins with a 10-day schedule in Hyderabad with Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The source revealed, “In the last three months, Prashanth and his writing team have been improving the script of Salad 2 based on the feedback on the first part and are now ready to bring the film to the stage by the end of May. The journey begins with Prabhas and Prithviraj attending a 10-day program in Hyderabad.”
The source also hinted that a majority of the film will be shot this year and the remaining scenes will be completed in the first quarter of 2025. Filming locations include Hyderabad and the outskirts of Bangalore. “Prashanth Neel will shoot for the film in Hyderabad and on the outskirts of Bangalore. While Lettuce started the conflict, the real story begins in Salaar 2, which is about the fight between Prabhas and Prithviraj. The politics and dynamics between the characters will also be clarified in the sequel, which will emphasize confrontations and action,” the source added.
While Salad: Part 1 – Truce created the central conflict, Salaar 2: Shauryanga Parvam is expected to delve deeper into the fight between Prabhas and Prithviraj’s characters. The sequel will also provide a clearer picture of the political landscape and character dynamics, with an emphasis on confrontations and action sequences.
Hombale Films is targeting a December 2025 release Salad 2: Shauryanga Parvam, coinciding with the second anniversary of the first film. The sequel will not only feature the core cast, but also new actors from various film industries.
