Seacrest agreed with the country singer’s comments, saying he believes she would bring a level of energy and courage to the show – a level that is desperately needed after the “Unconditionally” singer leaves in just a few weeks .
“She was very good,” Seacrest said of Trainor. “Meghan is also super talented and she has a great sense of humor. She’s fun and spontaneous.”
No matter who fills Perry’s position – although most fans believe it should be a singer – Richie says it’s imperative that the newcomer works well with the show’s existing judges, hosts and staff, as they have to maintain a very specific relationship.
“Finding someone to replace Katy with a sense of humor has to be fun, but not selfish, because we insult each other so much,” the “Hello” singer said with a laugh.
