Carol Burnett Receives a Surprise Message from Bradley Cooper on Her 91st Birthday

Bradley Cooper I conjured up a delightful birthday surprise Carol Burnett.

The comedy legend appeared on Wednesday Jimmy Kimmel Livewhere she was shocked to receive a personal video message from her maestro Star.

Host first Jimmy Kimmel mentioned Burnett’s viral appearance Live with Kelly and Mark last month, where she joked that there was only one thing left on her wish list before she turned 91: “do Cooper.”

“Well, you know, my birthday is Friday,” Burnett teased Kimmel.

“We reached out to Bradley and he sent us this,” Kimmel replied, giving the visibly shocked actress a preview of the clip.

“Hello, Carol Burnett, this is Bradley Cooper,” the video begins. “I just wanted to wish you a happy 91st birthday. I have been a big fan of yours since childhood, I have watched your show with great devotion and it is my pleasure to leave you this message. I hope to meet you someday and maybe even work together. I hope you have a great day, see you.”

Burnett was delighted by the news, telling Kimmel: “Oh, this is hysterical. I love that.”

She added: “What a great birthday present, thank you. So adorable.”

In an interview with ET last month, Burnett said that she hoped to write a romantic story with Cooper in a possible second season of Palm Royale on Apple TV+.

“I have to say I was surprised. So that’s a good cliffhanger,” Burnett said of the show’s first season finale with co-star Kristen Wiig shared that they were “hoping” to return for more episodes.

“As for my character,” Burnett added, “I would love to be with Bradley Cooper, but I don’t know if that would work out.”

Last year, Burnett’s 90th birthday was celebrated with a special television broadcast. Carol Burnett: 90 years of laughter + love.

The beloved icon sat down with ET before the broadcast, where she reflected on the joyous celebration in her honor.

“It was wonderful and embarrassing at the same time. It was so sweet and loving and I had so many good friends there and I was so touched by everything they said,” Burnett said in the exclusive sit-down interview.

“I didn’t want a birthday party with cake and confetti and all that and I didn’t want a roast. What I wanted was a variety show,” she added. “I wanted a show with live entertainment, music, comedy, we would show funny clips.”

As for her legacy, Burnett said she hopes people remember how good “our show made them feel. This is important.”
