Beijing 2024: Honda Ye EVs on Display – P7 and S7 Coming in 2024; Series GT Concept in 2025 – Paultan.org

Earlier this month, Honda announced a trio of electric vehicles (EVs) that will make up its new Ye lineup in China. All three have since made their public debut at the ongoing Auto China 2024 in Beijing, so here are some live photos of them.

We start with the P7, an SUV scheduled to be launched by the end of 2024. Sales and production are handled by the automobile manufacturer’s joint venture GAC Honda. There is also the S7, another SUV marketed by Dongfeng Honda this year.

Both models are based on a platform specifically designed for electric vehicles called Architecture W and are offered with single-motor rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive. The platform also features a double wishbone suspension at the front while a five-link suspension at the rear. Detailed specifications such as performance and range are currently unknown.

The P7 and S7 follow in the footsteps of other Honda models that are mechanically very similar but differ in design. Common features include a wraparound windshield, sloping rear window, large D-pillars, retractable door handles, and branding trim near the side mirrors. Both Ye models (the name means “bright and shining”) also feature a flattened version of the traditional “H” logo.

The P7 differs from the S7 in its front and rear sections, which previously feature LED headlights with a C-shaped daytime running light signature, connected by a light bar. In comparison, the S7’s DRLs are Y-shaped, also connected to a light bar, while the main headlight clusters are arranged diagonally.

Towards the rear, the P7’s taillights mimic the design of the front DRLs and reach deep into the tailgate to match a central Honda lettering. The S7 takes a different approach with an H-shaped lighting signature thanks to vertical taillight elements connected by a light bar that runs directly above the same lettering on the tailgate.

While the exterior of the P7 and S7 is distinctive, the interior is almost identical. The main highlight is a large, portrait-format touchscreen in the center of the dashboard. This allows access to all vehicle functions, including the air conditioning, while in the rather plain center console – apart from the gear selector buttons – some buttons (such as the driving mode selector) are placed at the bottom of the screen housing.

A slim digital instrument cluster sits deep in the dashboard in front of the driver. Other notable elements include the air vents on both sides of the nearly hexagonal steering wheel. You’ll also notice screens near the A-pillars that show a video feed from the side-mounted cameras on the outside.

Honda Ye GT

The third Ye model will initially be presented as a show car. It’s called the GT Concept and is a preview of a production sedan that is scheduled to hit the market in 2025. The sporty four-door model has a slim silhouette and X-shaped daytime running lights, similar to the S7.

At the rear, the GT Concept gets ultra-slim taillights, while other features include pop-out door handles, side cameras, 22-inch wheels, forged carbon panels and a rather distinctive pixel theme.

Inside, you’ll find a futuristic (and rather edgy) dashboard design, complemented by a racing-inspired steering wheel and a plethora of screens. Whether everything we see here makes it into the production version remains to be seen.

This trio is just the beginning of the Ye range of electric vehicles, as Honda says three more will follow by 2027. The company also has its e:N product series, which will form a range of 10 electric vehicles with more potentially being added in the future.
