Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt is set to stun the red carpet at the prestigious Met Gala 2024. This is Bhatt’s second appearance at the highly anticipated fashion event, making her one of the select few Indian celebrities to grace the prestigious gala.

According to India Today, while the details about the designer are still under wraps, anticipation is high for Bhatt to deliver another unforgettable fashion moment. The news of Bhatt’s presence created huge excitement among her fans and the fashion world alike. Paparazzi filmed the actress at Mumbai’s Kalina Airport on Saturday, May 4, as she headed to New York City, the host city of the Met Gala.
The theme for 2024 is “Sleeping Beauty: Fashion Resurgent.” The official dress code is “The Garden of Time.” The theme is inspired by a story from 1962. It’s open to interpretation, but expect lots of flowers and plant-based outfits!
According to Vogue, “The exhibition will feature approximately 250 rare pieces from the Costume Institute’s permanent collection.” The pieces span over 400 years of fashion history and include designs by Schiaparelli, Dior, Givenchy and more. Some garments too fragile to ever be worn again – such as a Charles Frederick Worth ball gown from 1877 – are also shown using video animation, light projection, AI, CGI and other forms of sensory stimulation.”
This year, Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth are the official co-hosts. They follow last year’s group of famous people, which included Penélope Cruz and Roger Federer. Vogue’s Anna Wintour has been running the Met Gala since 1995 and has made it the massive fashion party it is today!
Bhatt made her 2023 Met Gala debut and turned heads with a stunning couture creation by Prabal Gurung. The renowned Indian designer created a couture masterpiece inspired by Karl Lagerfeld’s iconic bridal look for Chanel’s Fall/Winter 1992 collection.
