This is what happened when a YouTuber tried to keep his cool and ended up breaking his recently purchased, one-of-a-kind McLaren Senna. Now the destroyed Senna sits at a car auction in Los Angeles, waiting to be sold.
It all started around April 29th when an Instagram story started making the rounds on other social media platforms – thanks largely to a Reddit post The video, which has since been removed, shows a McLaren Senna showboating on Ventura Boulevard in Southern California’s San Fernando Valley. In the video, the Senna stops on the road, does a donut into the middle turning lane and then continues onto the road while accelerating and upshifting.
The driver doesn’t seem to know exactly what the hell he’s doing as he loses control, slams on the brakes, and rams the Senna right into the side of a Lexus dealership. According to comments on the Reddit post, the driver of the Senna was none other than YouTuber Mondi, whose real name is Edmond Barseghian.
Mondi appears to have just purchased the car and even disclosed details of its purchase days before the accident. The Senna is described as a 1:1 Kiwi Edition model, a custom build from the original owner with beautiful green paint, brown leather, cartoon Kiwi graphics and unique carbon fiber wheels. In an “apology” post after the accident went viral, he mentioned that he had just given the car a number of modifications, including slick tires – not exactly fancy for a road car.
The accident was apparently also a trademark for Mondi. Many comments said he wasn’t allowed to drive because he wrecked “his 992 GT3 and a brand new Hummer electric car” last year. He also crashed another GT3RS on the track when he tried to make it slide.” He has since gone private on Instagram, but his account was full of videos of him driving extremely dangerously through busy city streets . In one video, he was seen destroying the transmission of an F40 while speeding down a street, sending the car drifting through traffic, and in another video, he was seen accelerating the launch control
Car auctions for insurance in North Hollywood currently owns the wrecked Senna and will soon put it up for sale, according to the listing on the website. The post also gives us a much better look at the extent of the accident damage – and it is bad. The entire front of the Senna is essentially gone, right down to the bent frame and deployed airbags. But none of that should deter a buyer when this thing goes on sale. After all, the rest of the car is mostly intact and will likely go to someone to rebuild it. It’s definitely going to take a lot of time and money to get this thing back on the road, but it would be worth it to get this car back on the road.
