Ariana Grande And Cynthia Erivo‘s friendship is the gift that keeps on giving!
After Evil Co-stars graced the iconic steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday I met Galathe two reunited at the event, where they delivered a rousing performance Mariah Carey And Whitney Houstonis the iconic 1998 duet “When You Believe.” The song was previously heard on Disney The Prince of Egypt Soundtrack and won the Oscar for Best Song at the 71st Academy Awards.
In a TikTok video the “Thank You, Next” singer shared on Tuesday, Grande and Erivo, 37, are seen holding their hearts out on stage and singing, “But when you’re blinded by your pain / Can’t see that way, come through the rain / A small but calm, resilient voice / Says help is close, oh / There can be miracles / If you believe / Though hope is weak / It’s hard to kill / Who knows what miracles / You can achieve / If you believe somehow, you will achieve it.
Both Grande and Erivo changed for the appearance her appearance on the red carpetwith Grande wearing an ensemble in shades of green and purple and Erivo wearing a pink and red floral dress.
Grande, 30, was the surprise performer on the fashion affair, and it’s no surprise that she asked Erivo for help to finish the show how close they became through filming Evil, which is should be in cinemas on Nov. 27.
Speaking to ET at the Met GalaErivo said she’s excited for fans to see “the relationship that these two women have” in the film. Erivo and Grande play the roles of Elphaba and Glinda, respectively, in the film, which also stars Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Jeff Goldblumand more.
In April, ET also spoke with Yeoh, 61, who plays Madame Morrible in the highly anticipated film adaptation, and she couldn’t help but gush about the friendships, particularly between Grande and Erivo, that were formed during the two-year filming period.
“But Cynthia and Ariana are like yin and yang. They’re just like the perfect little couple,” Yeoh said.
Back in January, Erivo and Grande commemorated their friendship by sharing the words “For Good.” tattooed on her palmsa tribute to the famous duet of Glinda and Elphaba.
Evil: Part 1 hits theaters on November 27th Wicked: Part Two will be published on November 26, 2025.
