Vanessa Lachey finds comfort in her daughter Brooklyn’s unwavering support during difficult times.
On Sunday, Lachey took to her Instagram Stories to share a sweet moment with her followers. In the photo, Lachey, 43, and her 9-year-old daughter are seen spending time together after watching the film unexpected cancellation from NCIS: Hawaii after just three seasons.
Despite the setback, Lachey proudly wears her daughter’s Mickey Mouse ears, which read “NC” on one ear and “IS” on the other, as a touching tribute to her canceled show. NCIS: Hawaii.
In a touching caption overlaid on the photo, Lachey recounts the emotional experience of explaining the news to her daughter, only to be greeted by Brooklyn’s touching kindness. “I try to explain the news to my daughter… and she makes me Mickey ears so I can ‘smile’ 😩,” Lachey wrote. She also acknowledges the importance of the decision beyond television, adding: “This decision was bigger than a television show…”
Over the weekend, Lachey broke her silence after that cancellation from NCIS: Hawaii.
In a heartfelt message posted via her Instagram Story, Lachey expressed a mix of emotions ranging from despair to gratitude. “Eviscerated, confused, blind,” she confessed, before quickly turning to acknowledge the unwavering support of the show’s dedicated fan base. “Grateful, confident, beloved fans,” she added, showing her appreciation for their continued loyalty.
Amid the whirlwind of emotions, Lachey stressed the importance of prioritizing her family during this challenging time. “I’m processing this news and continuing to be with my family,” she said, underlining her commitment to her loved ones.
Lachey, who is also known for her role as the devoted mother of three and wife of Nick Lachey, concluded her message with a heartfelt expression of love and gratitude: “I love you all! Mahalo Nui Loa.”
The spin-off was the fourth for the NCIS Franchise – that New Orleans And The angel The versions ended in 2021 and 2023 respectively – and the first with a woman at the helm.
The cancellation of NCIS: Hawaii resonated on social media and sparked reactions from key figures involved in the creation of the show.
Chris Silber, one of the series’ creators, went to X to reflect on the journey that began four years ago. “We started something very special…we ended up creating an ohana,” Silber noted, using the Hawaiian term for “family” to describe the close bond between cast and crew.
Co-creator Matt Bosack expressed Silber’s sentiments and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to bring her vision to life. “Even though it’s over, I’m forever grateful… for our amazing cast, led by Vanessa Lachey, the entire crew, and this wonderful island I call home,” Bosack shared on X, reflecting on the show’s profound impact .
He also thanked fans and acknowledged the diverse stories and topics covered in the series.
Following the news, sources said deadline that the Season 3 finale was not intended to be a conclusion to the series and will end with a foretaste of the Season 4 drama that will never end. However, a major cliffhanger is not expected, the outlet says.
Overall, however, the franchise is a success. NCIS And NCIS: Sydney were both renewed for their 22nd and 2nd seasons respectively. There are also a spin-off in the works at Paramount+, we’ll see Cote de Pablo And Michael Weatherly slip into their fan-favorite roles as Ziva David and Tony DiNozzo.
When ET spoke to Lachey about her role in ” Hawaii, she gushed about being “a part of this incredible franchise” that aired 1000th episode earlier this moth.
“To be the newcomer – the baby after three seasons – and to be able to celebrate 1,000 episodes of a television show, I don’t know if people really realize what a huge accomplishment that is,” Lachey told ET. “…I’m just honored and constantly humbled and very grateful. But I don’t take it for granted either.”
