Update: DJ Vlad Apologizes to Black Professor for Threatening Her Princeton Position

Black X hasn’t slowed down DJ Vlad since he threatened the job of a Princeton professor on Saturday (May 4). He and Morgan Jerkins exchanged words on the social platform after attempting to steer black people into conversations about Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s rap beef.

Two days after backing off his threats to report her, DJ Vlad apologized for his actions.

“After careful consideration, I would like to apologize to @MorganJerkins for tagging her job in my replies during our Twitter exchange this past weekend.” he wrote on X.

As previously reported, Vlad didn’t take it well when Morgan Jerkins pointed out that he was a white man invading a black space. He clapped back, repeatedly tagging Princeton and insisting that she is likely silencing non-black students in her class. He also accused her of making “ignorant and bigoted comments.”

However, on Monday, he made it clear that he had no intention of reporting her — despite his five-plus posts tagged with Princeton.

Professor Morgan Jerkins has not yet responded to the apology on her X-Feed. Her last post on the platform – at the time of publishing this article – was on May 7th. It highlighted two recent nominations for her debut short film, “Black Madonna.”

She already rejected his clarification on Monday, so another rejection is likely, but we’ll have to wait and see!

Social media reacts to DJ Vlad’s apology

DJ Vlad’s post has now garnered over 860,000 views, more than 2,600 reposts and 1,500 comments within five hours of publication – and the number is still rising!

Both white and black X users appeared to continue to berate Vlad for his actions against Jerkins.

@ericriveracooks replied: “Translation: “I saw a significant reduction in my future earning potential and came to the conclusion that I needed to apologize and hope no one noticed. And if that doesn’t work, I’m going to cancel culture and be a DJ Republican.”

@rosesfortywild added, “As you always work in the Black business, you should know that we will only accept apologies in the form of reparations.”

@citizenstewart apologized and said: “No, brother. Once you play this card, you lose your hand.”

@Tuesday_Antwi also rejected Vlad’s apology. He said, “Absolutely not. You tried to direct a conversation that was very superficial to someone’s workplace. You must leave our rooms immediately.”

@JxOnTheKeyz gave the podcaster some advice: “If you can’t handle non-threatening criticism, hip hop is not the arena for you. Journalist or not, this is what you should know. Keep it, Player Vlad.”

And @Swift601 added: “Respect the apology but you are still out!!!! Find another niche and you will succeed. But you were a visitor to the culture. Your passport has expired!!!! And those who say it’s cool just want an interview so we can see what they’re all about!!!!”

@AJ_Lusby wrote: “I noticed you didn’t directly say you were wrong. Apologizing is one thing. Admitting you were wrong is another. “After considerable consideration” sounds more like an unexpected backlash. Take a course and learn from your mistakes. @MorganJerkins you are queen ❤️.”

Wpabnizzlmynzl joked: “Princeton laughed at you, didn’t he?”

And of course there were memes among the thousands of replies.

Still, there were some who appeared to applaud the podcaster for his apology.

Vlad continued to promote his personal projects on his X-Timeline, seemingly ignoring the flood of apologetic responses.
