Ukraine Highlights Russia’s “hell Line.” Claim That Dozens of Tanks and Military Vehicles Were Destroyed on a Section of the Donetsk Front.

  • The Armed Forces of Ukraine have released a video that allegedly shows 42 destroyed Russian military vehicles.

  • The Ukrainian Defense Ministry described the scenes as a “line to hell.”

  • Fighting in the Donetsk region has intensified in recent months as Russia pushes further past Avdiivka.

Ukraine’s armed forces say they destroyed 42 Russian tanks and military vehicles in the eastern Donetsk region.

A video shared by Ukraine’s 58th Motorized Brigade appears to show the wreckage of the vehicles.

A caption accompanying the video said: “It seems that in recent weeks Putin’s generals have made a great sacrifice to their hellish gods, throwing new troops and equipment to their deaths.”

“The result is dozens of burned-out Russian tanks and armored vehicles,” it continued.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry re-shared the video on X, formerly Twitter, and wrote: “A line to hell. Dozens of Russian tanks and combat vehicles were destroyed on a small sector of the front in the Donetsk region.”

Business Insider could not independently verify when and where the footage was shot.

Fighting in the Donetsk region has intensified in recent months as Russia pushes to capture more ground around the already captured city of Avdiivka.

Russian forces are currently targeting the strategically important northern city of Khasiv Yar.

Ukrainian officials believe Russia now aims to conquer the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in 2024.

The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) think tank reported in February that Russia’s campaign around Avdiivka resulted in significant losses of both equipment and personnel.

According to the report, at that point, Russia had lost 8,800 armored fighting vehicles since its full-scale invasion began in February 2022.

The IISS director general also said in February that Russia had likely lost more than 3,000 tanks since the invasion began.

“To put this in perspective, Russia’s tank losses on the battlefield are greater than the number it had at the start of its offensive in 2022,” he wrote.

The Dutch open-source intelligence website Oryx visually confirms Russian tank losses since the start of the conflict at almost 3,000.
