Just a few days ago, images of the new fourth generation Maruti Suzuki Swift were shared online by a Maruti dealer. Now, ahead of its official launch on May 9, images of the base variant of the new Swift have surfaced online. The only noticeable detail we can see in these images is that even the base variants will come with projector headlights with LED daytime running lights and LED taillights.

It begins with the presenter showing off the front end of the base LXI variant of the fourth-generation Swift model. It is worth noting that the front will get exactly the same headlights as the top variant.
Frontend changes
However, according to the moderator, it could be possible that the company does not offer LED lights for the projector headlights. Instead, halogen lamps could be offered for the projectors. It has also not been confirmed whether the LED daytime running lights can be switched on or not.
We can notice that the headlights get the L-shaped LED daytime running lights. But the company may or may not have disconnected it to differentiate between the base and top trims. Apart from that, we can notice that the LED fog lights have been removed and get black covers instead. The rest of the front section looks very similar to the higher-end model.
Side profile changes
If you look at the side profile of the base LXI Swift, you’ll notice that it’s missing the black A and B pillars. There will be the same black element on the C-pillar, but the rear part of the door frame will be in body color. Additionally, the car will also feature black door handles and ORVMs.
Speaking of ORVMs: It is assumed that the company will offer ORVMs that can be opened manually. However, they could be operated electrically for adjustment. The side profile also gets 16-inch steel rims. These rims come with a four hole pattern. Otherwise the rest of the car appears to be the same.
Changes to the rear
Coming to the rear, there are a few features that will be missing from the Swift LXI variant. There will be no rear wiper, no washer and no windshield heating. There will also be no reversing camera or parking sensors. What it will get, however, are the same clear C-shaped LED taillights.

Unfortunately, no images of the interior of the new Swift’s base trim were shared. However, the moderator states that the company could offer the basic configuration with a very small screen. Whether this will be the case or not, we will have to wait and watch.
Furthermore, it is speculated that the company might offer the base variant with automatic climate control as the base Baleno variant. However, this has not been confirmed either. The presenter also mentions that it has been reported that the base trim will also come with all four power windows.
2024 Swift LXI engine
As for the engine specifications, it will most likely get the same naturally aspirated Z-series 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine. According to reports, this new engine will drop 8.2 HP of power and 1 Nm of torque. However, the ARAI-certified mileage will increase by an impressive 3.34 km/h, giving a total mileage of 25.72 km/h.
