Tottenham Offered to Sign a Striker Worth £52m While Agents Sought Talks

Tottenham Hotspur have been given the chance to sign a £52million striker as intermediaries make contact with Ange Postecoglou’s side.

In January, Spurs managed to hijack Barcelona’s contract with exciting young midfielder Lucas Bergvall, who joined the club in a buyback deal from Djurgardens IF.

There is a lot of excitement surrounding Bergvall and his arrival in north London and the Swedish sensation is set to link up with Tottenham properly this summer after a productive final season at Djurgardens.

Some have even suggested that Bergvall could become one of the top ten midfielders in the world at Spurs, but chief executive Daniel Levy, technical director Johan Lange and head of football Scott Munn are still looking to sign more top talent.

In fact, Tottenham remain interested in Club Brugge winger Antonio Nusa and are apparently keeping an eye on 21-year-old Bologna star Riccardo Calafiori. Postecoglou wants to make Spurs a “preferred destination” for the best football talent from around the world.

“You can try to sell someone a vision, but when there is tangible physical evidence of it… Anyone who has watched us since I joined will have seen the ambition we have to be the kind of team we are want to be.

“It’s not just me saying it, we’re actually doing it. Okay, we’re far from the finished product. But we give young players a chance. Destiny, Pape and Micky, all guys in their early 20s who have already played significant roles.

“We are building a team. From our point of view it is pleasing and we hope that we will become a club that is a preferred destination for talented young players. There aren’t too many hidden gems – everyone knows who the talent is. Hopefully that is our unique selling point. I’ve always felt that your football is your biggest selling point, more than anything else. Hopefully we’ll show evidence of what will help us.”

According to The Boot Room, Spurs now have the opportunity to sign a highly-rated Brazilian teenager.

According to their information, intermediaries have contacted Tottenham and offered them Barcelona striker Vitor Roque.

The 19-year-old has struggled for playing time under Xavi, so much so that agents have contacted numerous top English teams, including Spurs, who are trying to secure a temporary move away from Spain for him.

After joining Barca from Athletico Paranaense for around £52m last summer, Roque has only managed two full starts and two goals, with Premier League sides potentially set to benefit.
