Tori spelling gives insight into her financial situation after filing for divorce Dean McDermott.

The self-proclaimed “collector” recorded the Wednesday, April 11, episode of her “Misspelling” podcast live from the four storage units where her “long history of stuff” lives. But since she can no longer afford the equipment, it was time for an eviction.

“I have all of my children’s memories. I have everything from my 18-year marriage, everything until, I think, a year ago when we had to flee the house with mold and everything went into storage,” Spelling, 50, shared. “But anyway, [I] didn’t have the money to pay for the units.”

She explained that if someone renting a storage unit can no longer pay, the company will lock up the items for a certain period of time before auctioning them off.

“A very kind person prevented it from being auctioned. … I have friends helping me get back into some of the units,” Spelling said, adding the iHeartRadio producer Amy Sugarman I paid to have “two of the units” opened – and unfortunately I didn’t choose the right ones.

“[We] didn’t know what was in any of them. We can only do two right now because Amy helped me with two,” she continued. “St, guys. I don’t think that’s something I really need. … This is all Dean’s stuff.”

Spelling continued: “I’m so sad right now. I just wanted to have my memorabilia and my children’s things, but that’s not something we need. $971 for fucking crap. Oh dear God. Talk about getting screwed. What the hell?”

The actress said her “whole life is spent in these units” while giving props to McDermott, 57, who said they should have cleared them out a while ago. “He was right.”

“Just getting rid of everything… it felt like a part of me didn’t exist. I just deleted something. So I couldn’t let go,” Spelling explained. “Now I’m ready to let go of a lot of things. Well, because I have to, because I can’t pay for it. But since Dean and I broke up and my life changed so radically, it’s a whole new beginning.”

Spelling filed for divorce from McDermott last month and shared the news with him in a separate podcast episode. McDermott announced their split months earlier in a now-deleted June 2023 Instagram post. (Spelling and McDermott share children Liam, 17, Stella, 15, Hattie, 12, Finn, 11, and Beau, 7.)

As she went through the items in the unit, Spelling was transported to a time where she was purchasing things — like an expensive mirror — that were “a representation of this life that I lead.” Spelling admitted: “I’ve got f***ing problems, man. I have five kids to support in LA… I’m doing my best.”

Various financial problems have been openly discussed over the years, even after closure Hello New York host Rosanna Scotto who asked if the actress was able to pay her bills despite reports of credit card debt.

“Can I pay my bills?” Spelling said during the tense interaction in August 2019: “Yes, thank you. I am.”
