For Tori spelling, May 7th is now just another day like any other. The 50 year old Beverly Hills, 90210 Star opened Monday’s episode of her spelling mistake Podcast about leaving her previous wedding anniversary with her ex, Dean McDermottafter she filed for divorce last month.
She said when a friend noticed he no longer had to mark the former couple’s special day on his calendar: “That kind of hit me. I thought, ‘Wow, yeah, wow.’ I mean, of course I filed for divorce, but I hadn’t thought about it.
As Spelling reflected on her past homemade anniversary gifts for McDermott, she burst into tears.
“Oh my God, I’m in tears, I have feelings, look at this. She exists!” she said while talking about a wooden bench she had imagined them sitting on together as they grew older.
The exes have five children together – Liam, 17, Stella, 15, Hattie, 12, Finn, 11 and Beau, 7 – and will always be a part of each other’s lives.
“At the end of the day, he, I and our children are a family unit. “He’s her father whether we’re married or not,” Spelling said, adding, “Well, I’m not growing up with him.”
Continuing to tear up, Spelling added, “Oh my God, guys, it’s not going to be about me every week, like, ‘Oh, I’m Tori, I’m alone and single!’ Or it may be, I mean, I don’t know.
Spelling joked about the 18th wedding anniversary porcelain gift and joked that she planned to make her ex some teeth.
“What would his girlfriend say? ‘If you ever love me, you’ll wear my porcelain teeth around your neck! Five of them for the five beautiful children we made,'” she joked. “How can you say no to that? “I’m sorry Lily, you know I love you.”
Since Spelling and McDermott’s split in June 2023, he has started a new relationship with Lily Calo.
“My soon-to-be ex has a girlfriend, a friend who she lives with, who met the kids and who I like,” Spelling shared in a recent podcast episode.
A source previously told ET“Tori filing for divorce from Dean was no surprise to either of them. They’ve both done everything right over the last few years and put a plan in place.”
“They wanted to make sure they were cared for both individually and as co-parents,” the source noted. “It is not a volatile situation on either side and there is actually a pretty warm relationship between them. Their co-parenting situation is fine and getting better.”
