TJ Holmes explained why breaking up with his girlfriend worries him so much Amy Robach if she travels without him.
On the Friday, April 12, episode of her “Amy and TJ” podcast, Robach, 51, discussed her plans to visit her older daughter in Germany.
“We’re going to be apart for a few days for the first time in a long time,” said Robach, who shares daughters Ava, 21, and Annalize, 17, with his ex-husband Tim McIntoshsaid.
Holmes, 46, initially joked that he didn’t mind the distance between them, adding: “Everyone needs a break. Sometimes you don’t realize you need a break. …I said maybe. I didn’t say I would do it however or what I wanted. I didn’t say we needed it[ed] It. I said maybe. I have nothing to do with us being separated.

After Robach asked what Holmes had planned for the four days they were away, he admitted that he wasn’t sure he would like being apart for so long.
“I advise [be in the] “I’ll stay in the fetal position for several days,” he joked, before becoming more honest. “I’ll worry about you traveling.”
Holmes noted that he was always worried when Robach was away.
“I’ve told you that many times. I’m not mad [but] I get really frustrated when we travel separately. “We’ve been through so much together,” he explained. “[Now] I’m always scared and afraid that I won’t be able to be with you to protect you or help you when we’re not together. I just don’t like being away from you.
He added: “I’m scared something might happen and after everything we’ve been through, I’m freaking out about it.”
In response, Robach made a joke about Holmes “not missing her,” to which he replied, “It’s not about missing you. I miss you when you go to the toilet. I hate it when we travel apart for long periods of time.”

Holmes and Robach often use their podcast together as a platform to provide candid insight into their private lives. The couple first made headlines in November 2022 when photos emerged of them getting cozy outside the office despite being married to other people.
That same month, Holmes filed for divorce Marilee Fiebig after more than a decade of marriage. Robach also ended her marriage with Andrew Shuewhom she married in 2010. Us weekly broke the news in January 2023 that Robach and Holmes were officially dropped from ABC, and the network later confirmed their departure from GMA3.
Holmes and Robach initially kept a low profile about the scandal. They broke their silence in December 2023 with the release of their podcast, which allowed them to tell their side of the story.

“To be clear, we were outed as being in a relationship, but everyone else thought we were being outed as adulterers – cheating on our spouses – and that wasn’t the case, because the strange thing is when these pictures came out, they were taken and on “The day this article was published, we were both going through divorce proceedings at that point,” Holmes said during the first episode.
Robach also defended her romance with Holmes, sharing, “We had lawyers, mediators, we were in the middle of a divorce. We thought we were protecting our children and our families and we thought we had time and we thought we had a right to privacy and maybe that was stupid and silly.”
