Brittany notes in the clip that the topic has already been brought up, adding, “He knows. It was a whole thing. And then when he puts me down… I’ll cry.”

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s love story wasn’t exactly a fairytale, leading to their split in 2024. Taylor met Cartwright between seasons 3 and 4 of Vanderpump Rules in the spring of 2015. Fans saw Cartwright move to Los Angeles to be with Taylor during the fourth season of the reality series. While she quickly […]

While filming a confessional, Brittany explains what caused the breakup between her and 44-year-old Jax.

“Jax can be really hard on me. “It makes me pretty depressed, whether it’s because I go on a girls’ night out and don’t feel good the next day, or because of how I look,” she admits on camera. “Your partner is supposed to lift you up and make you feel good, and I feel like he’s doing just the opposite of me.”

She continues: “This really sucks because I was in his corner for all the things he did to me. I always stood up for him and always believed in him. I just feel like I won’t get the same thing back.”

Before joining The valleyJax and Brittany documented the ups and downs of their relationship Vanderpump Rules. Their 2019 wedding was filmed for the show, a year before the duo announced their departure. They expanded their family with son Cruz, whom they welcomed in 2021.

Jax and Brittany surprised fans when they announced their split earlier this year.

When viewers were introduced to the staff at Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurant during the 2013 premiere of Vanderpump Rules, it was clear that everyone was intertwined in their love lives. From Stassi Schroeder’s rocky relationship with Jax Taylor, which took a turn when he started dating her best friend Kristen Doute, to Peter Madrigal’s loose connections with several […]

“So many of you have asked me about Jax and I and our relationship. I just think it’s important to be honest and truthful with you guys because we’ve shared so much of our lives with you,” Brittany said on a February episode of her podcast, “When Reality Hits.” “I don’t want it to look like I’m lying or anything. So I think it’s important for me to say this.”

Brittany mentioned that the decision didn’t come out of nowhere, adding, “Yes, marriages are very hard, and I’ve had a particularly hard year. Jax and I are taking some time off and I’ve made the decision to move to a different home to make some space for my mental health. I won’t go into too many details because it’s still very difficult to talk about.”

After they put their marriage on hold, Brittany spoke openly about how a lack of intimacy contributed to her ongoing marital problems.

“Keeping things romantic and spicy is the way to do it. If we want to make it 20 years we have to keep doing this, but it has already declined so much. It’s knocked my confidence – why isn’t he coming to me? “I felt like I wasn’t good enough,” she revealed Us weekly’s latest cover story. “When you feel like your partner doesn’t want you and they’re also being mean to you, you ask yourself, ‘What am I doing here?’ I basically live with a roommate. I’ve reached my breaking point.”

Brittany also explained what kind of changes she wanted from Jax, adding, “There are a lot of things, and I don’t see enough effort on his part. He needs to go to therapy. He doesn’t have to stay out at the bar all the time. He needs to respect me more and stop taking me for granted. I was the closest person to him and was like his punching bag. He constantly gave me vaccinations. I can’t deal with this for the rest of my life.”

The valley airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo and is available to stream the next day on Peacock.
