The spin-off series, which debuted in March 2024, centers on a group of friends who leave their wild young years behind to live in California’s San Fernando Valley in exchange for parenthood and an adult life.
Former Vanderpump Rules Stars Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright And Kristen Doute were the faces of the show – until the first season aired. Fans quickly became more interested in Michelle and Jesse’s deteriorating marriage and all the rumors that were being spread behind their backs.
Before joining The valleyJesse and Michelle got engaged in 2017 after dating for several years. They tied the knot a year later and expanded their family with the arrival of daughter Isabella in 2020. Us weekly confirmed in March – shortly before The valleySeries premiere – that Jesse and Michelle separated after almost six years of marriage.

“There’s a big story in our lives where I’m trying to work on myself all summer long to be the best version of myself,” Jesse shared exclusively Us in March about his approach to the season. “And if the best version of myself matched the best version of herself, then our marriage would last. People evolve. If your marriage and your relationship don’t move forward, it will never work, no matter how much you want it to.”
Meanwhile, Michelle noted that there have been a lot of changes since filming the series.
“People said, ‘If you watch the show, you’ll realize what you guys are actually like,’ because when you’re on it, you don’t actually know,” she said in a separate interview with Us by the time. “When I step back and look at myself, I think, ‘Oh wow. It’s obvious we’re having some marital problems.'”
She continued: “I want fans to know how real we were. We are very authentic. We didn’t pretend and said that if we do reality TV, we will really expose our lives – the positive and the negative.”

Accusations of racism
In an April 2024 episode, Kristen claimed that Janet Caperna told Jasmine Goode that Michelle was “racist and republican.”
“Janet tried to stir up a lot of crap by insinuating that Michelle might be homophobic or racist. And then last night, Zach [Wickham] completely denied it. “Zach was upset about things he told me in confidence, but he knows better,” she noted. “I know that deep down Zach wanted me to light a fire. But I feel terrible for getting Michelle into some bullshit – that Janet started it.”
However, Janet accused Kristen of misrepresenting a statement she made, saying, “I said something small and Kristen made it so big.” She didn’t just run with it, she ran a marathon with me . Michelle, Brittany and I were at dinner a few months ago and Michelle said something like, “Don’t say gay laws protect children.” And I say, ‘No, you’re wrong.'”
According to Janet, she later asked Jasmine to speak to Michelle if the topic came up again.
“I said to Jasmine, who probably said to Zach, ‘We’ve talked about this bill and she might support it.’ But since it’s related to the LGBTQ community, hearing them talk about it and feeling the same thing could be a teachable moment,” she continued.
Michelle told Jesse onscreen how unhappy she was about Kristen’s comments. “To be honest, I’m still shocked. “How completely shocked,” she said at the time. “I’m really upset because Janet wouldn’t say that or she wouldn’t be my friend. I am the one who is first generation Mexican and Persian. I’m just so shocked and confused about the whole thing.”

The mystery director
After Jesse admitted that he was having problems in his marriage, Jax and Luke Broderick both suggested that Michelle was unfaithful. Luke claimed he knew something that could end Jesse and Michelle’s marriage, without giving further details.
Meanwhile, Jax brought up Michelle’s close bond with an unnamed director.
“Michelle always says she doesn’t know who famous people are. But she continued with that director, she went out with him for a few days,” Jax told cameras in an April 2024 episode. “She’s going to the castle [Marmont] every day from her house and she met him by chance at the pool and they hit it off.”
He continued: “It was just another day. And then another day: Don’t you think that’s strange? I know she is a real estate agent so this is a potential client. Jesse doesn’t seem to mind too much. I don’t know if I believe it or not.”
Michelle, for her part, disputed the insinuation that she was unfaithful to the director, writing via Instagram Story that same month: “Absolutely not. Part of my job as a real estate agent is networking and networking. It had absolutely nothing to do with meeting anyone.”
A secret friend
Kristen continued to interfere in Michelle’s personal life, which led to a messy argument with Jesse. Kristen then told producers that she had previously tried to protect Michelle because she allegedly had a secret boyfriend.
“Because she had a real boyfriend for a year. We all said it then. Now she’s protecting him and not me,” Kristen claimed on screen in April 2024. “About a year ago, Michelle and Jesse were very unhappy. Michelle had a husband. She saw him, they were hanging out. I wasn’t against any of that because I think Jesse is a piece of shit.”
Michelle has yet to address the rumors. However, she revealed that she is dating someone new after she and Jesse broke up.
“Someone great. “Right now I like our little privacy,” Michelle wrote via Instagram Q&A before explaining where she and Jesse are now. “My only goal is to be friends one day.”
Bravo viewers assumed Michelle was referring to a financial advisor Aaron Noslerwho has posted several cozy photos with her since their breakup.
To be unfaithful
Although Jesse didn’t know what rumors were spreading about Kristen, he admitted to having questions about his wife.
“She used to yell at me when we first started dating. When I put my phone away and then all of a sudden she starts putting her phone away face down,” he told cameras in an April 2024 episode. “For years she wouldn’t go out and have a margarita without boomeranging. Then suddenly no more posts. Her thing was, “But sometimes I want to take a break from social media.” Bulls – t. She never took a break from social media.”
Michelle brushed off Jesse’s concerns that she was hiding something from him, saying, “That shouldn’t be in your head and you shouldn’t think like that.” They shouldn’t have to worry. We’ve never had a relationship like this where we had to worry about each other. And I was honest with you.”
