The Morning After: Apple Announces an IPad Event for May 7th

Apple has scheduled its next product presentation for May 7, a few weeks before its Worldwide Developers Conference, hopefully making room for even more announcements in June. An iPad refresh for May 7th has been rumored for months, and Apple’s Let Loose announcement features a hand holding an Apple Pencil. That screams iPad for us.

We could see some major upgrades to the iPad Pro series. M3 chips are a predictable addition, but we could also see OLED displays BloombergThis is Mark Gurman. This is intended to give the iPad Pro bolder colors and deeper blacks. The technology could even lead to thinner iPads. Given the illustration, we wouldn’t be surprised if a next-generation Apple Pencil or even an iPad Air were also unveiled.

Tupac’s estate isn’t happy that Drake cloned the late Shakur’s voice in a recent song. Attorney Howard King, representing Shakur’s estate, sent a cease-and-desist letter calling Drake’s use of Shakur’s voice “a blatant violation of Tupac’s advertising and the estate’s legal rights.” The dissident track “Taylor Made Freestyle” is the latest chapter in the artist’s decades-long simmering feud with Pulitzer and 17-time Grammy Award winner Kendrick Lamar. The track also used AI to clone Snoop Dogg’s voice.

To further complicate the whole AI voice cloning thing without permission, Universal Music Group (UMG), the label that represents Drake, has removed Ghostwriter977’s track “” because it uses an AI-generated version of Drake’s voice .
