The 8 Show, a brand new Korean drama on Netflix, throws eight strangers into a high-stakes game in a mysterious eight-story building. The longer you stay on this show, the higher the price. The hype has already begun thanks to the series’ impressive cast, recently revealed through character posters. Each contestant is identified by their floor number throughout the series, with big names like Ryu Jun Yeol (Floor 3) and Chun Woo Hee (Floor 8) adding star power to the mix. Floor 3 (Ryu Jun Yeol): Ryu’s character is down on his luck after a cheating incident and sees “The 8 Show” as a lifeline. With nothing to lose and a high hourly wage on the table, he dives headfirst into an opportunity that could change his life.
Floor 8 (Chun Woo Hee): Unlike the others, which are all about money, Chun’s character takes advantage of the game’s unpredictability for pure entertainment value. Her free spirit and the thrill she experiences promise to add a unique spark to the show.
Floor 7 (Park Jeong Min): Park’s character, the group’s strategic mastermind, is the first to crack the game’s code and develop winning strategies. He will definitely be a key player.
Floor 4 (Lee Yul Eum): Both personable and practical, Lee’s character has an uncanny ability to read people, which is valuable in this social experiment.
Floor 6 (Park Hae Joon): This participant is not afraid to engage in physical activity, which adds a tense level to the group dynamic. Expect Park to use his strength to manage conflict.

According to Netflix Korea’s official logline, the beauty or perhaps the horror of The 8 Show lies in the missing requirement. No special skills or knowledge are required, just participants’ most valuable asset: their time. The cryptic teaser trailer hints at a game full of coincidences and bizarre events, from contestant number 3 filming himself having a “mukbang” (competitive eating event) to a chaotic scene where everyone runs in the same direction.
Glimpses of one participant (Floor 8) jumping into a waterless pool, another (Floor 4) in shock, and a third (Floor 5) bursting into tears suggest a game that goes from pleasure to danger to emotional Riot escalates. The presence of people watching on a closed circuit television and the recurring 8 logo symbolizing infinity further add to the allure of this enigmatic game.
