The 4 Best MLS Stadiums – Ranking

The best MLS stadiums all feature an electric atmosphere, high capacities and modern designs that make playing and watching football an enjoyable, unforgettable experience.

Although MLS originally launched in 1996 with just 10 teams, Major League Soccer now includes 29 clubs across the United States and Canada, all with their own unique stadiums. Many of the newer Western Conference teams have football-specific stadiums, while several prominent clubs, such as New England Revolution, are required to use an NFL stadium. Evaluating the best of the current selections may be a matter of opinion, but ultimately some stadiums are simply better than others.

Here’s a breakdown of 90 minutes Top MLS stadiums in the 2024 season.

Check out the four best MLS stadiums in the Eastern and Western Conferences.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium was built in 2017 and is home to 2018 MLS Cup winners Atlanta United. Of the league’s 29 teams and stadiums, the Mercedes-Benz is always electric and, thanks to its NFL-level capacity, even briefly held the attendance record for an MLS game.

However, unlike MLS stadiums, which were built exclusively for soccer teams, Mercedes-Benz Stadium also hosts NFL and college football games, making some seats in the large stadium undesirable for playing soccer.

3. BMO Stadium

BMO Stadium is one of the newest soccer-specific stadiums in the MLS. Built exclusively for a premier soccer viewing and playing experience, the stadium offers a prime location for Los Angeles fans. Most importantly, the stadium features a grass playing surface, significantly reducing the possibility of serious injuries that often occur on grass.

2. Providence Park

Providence Park is an elite MLS stadium in Portland, Oregon. Of all the previous MLS Cup Championship games, the Portland Timbers’ home field against NYCFC was a sight to behold. Although the team lost on penalties that night, they will always remember how enthusiastic the crowd was throughout the game.

Like the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Providence Park unfortunately still has artificial turf. In fact, it is the only soccer-specific stadium in the MLS that does not have a grass field.

1. City Park

According to Tom Timmermann from the St. Louis Post-DispatchThe club is installing new turf to keep the playing surface as pristine as possible for the remainder of the 2024 season.
