Swift, 34, released her 11th studio album on April 19, which immediately broke sales and streaming records. TTPD recorded 2.6 million equivalent album sales in the first week of its release, of which 1.9 million were traditional album sales (including digital downloads, CDs, vinyl LPs and cassettes).
TTPD had the third-biggest sales week of all time in the modern era, behind only “NSync.” No conditions (2.4 million) and Adele‘S 25 (3.37 million) measured by the most albums sold in a week.
Upon hearing the news, Swift tweeted that she was “overwhelmed” by it TTPD 2.6 million copies were sold in the first week. “Are you really serious?” she added. “Thank you for listening, streaming and welcoming Tortured Poets in your life. I feel completely overwhelmed.”

TTPD debuted at number 1 billboard 200 chart dated May 4, giving Swift her 14th highest-charting album (including her new releases). This performance pushes Swift past drake to tie her up with it Jay Z for the most No. 1 albums in the chart’s 70-year history. The Beatles are still number one with 19 No. 1 albums.
“Fortnight” with Post Malone was released as the album’s lead single. 25.2 million streams were generated on Spotify alone. With his debut at number 1 on billboard Hot 100, Swift equals The Supremes and Madonna with 12 top hits. She also tied up Ariana Grande so that most songs debut at the top.
