Taylor Swift’s Apple Music Notes Before ‘TTPD’ Explained

Taylor Swift goes old school with her The Tortured Poets Department Easter eggs that leave subtle clues about Apple Music.

The music platform subtly changed its X-bio on Saturday, April 13, to read, “One word a day until the @taylorswift13 album drops.”

Swifties immediately started browsing their Apple playlists and soon discovered that the lyrics page for midnight The song “Glitch” featured a series of capital letters in seemingly random places. However, fans know that it’s never a coincidence when the 34-year-old hitmaker starts capitalizing random letters.

Word #1: Herewith

The letters H, E, Y, E, R and B were found on the text page “Glitch”, which when decoded means “hereby”.

After the word became popular, Swift’s fans began theorizing what “hereby” means The Tortured Poets Department.

“Taylor Swift out here sounds like the author inside Bridgerton. I herby [sic] Release this album,” one fan wrote about X on Saturday.

Others recognized that the word is defined as “with these words or with this action” and speculated that it might be a TTPD lyrical.

Word #2: Behavior

Clue #2 came in the undertones of “Peace,” a 2020 track Folklore. Taylor Nation’s official Instagram account informed fans at 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 14 that a new clue had emerged (and confirmed “hereby” as the first word). Within moments, Swifties found the capital letters and deciphered them.

One X user noted that they may correlate with Swift’s current Apple Music playlists by taking one from each stage. “First she went to the denial playlist with Glitch and we got THIS. Today peace was negotiated and we got CONDUCT,” the fan wrote.

Another believes there is a connection to her ex Joe Alwyn. “Hereby in breakdown and behavior in peace… both songs about Joe too,” the Swiftie claimed.

Swift confirmed this at the Grammys earlier this year The Tortured Poets Department, Her 11th studio album will be released on April 19th. The LP she wrote after 2022 midnight completed helped her get through what seemed like a difficult time.

“I had to do something [TTPD]. It’s really been a lifeline for me,” Swift said during a February concert in Australia. “It kind of reminded me why songwriting is something that actually gets me through life, and I’ve never had an album where I needed songwriting more than this album Tortured Poets.”

Swift, a longtime advocate of sharing intricate musical clues with her fans, dropped another via Instagram on Sunday, April 14.

“I wish I couldn’t remember when we had almost everything,” read a quote on her Instagram while promoting Target’s Phantom Clear Vinyl edition of ” TTPD.

The Instagram quote, coupled with clues in the album’s tracklist, led fans to believe so The Tortured Poets Department traces Swift’s feelings following her split from Alwyn, 33.

Swift and Alwyn dated for six years between 2016 and early 2023. The pop star has since moved on to playing football Travis Kelcewho raved about an early copy of TTPD.

“I’ve heard some of it, yeah, and it’s unbelievable,” Kelce, 34, gushed during a press conference in February before Super Bowl LVIII. “I can’t wait for her to shake up the world when she finally goes down.”

The Tortured Poets Department will be released on Friday, April 19th.
