Readers are aware that Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Netflix India hosted a grand screening in Mumbai on April 24, which was attended by some of the biggest names in B-Town like Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt. Along with them, the entire cast including Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha and others also attended the premiere of two episodes. Following the love the web series received, actor Taha Shah Badussha, who plays Sharmin Segal’s lover and Nawab Tajdar in the series, shared the monumental moment he shared with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his mother.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Taha Shah Badussha reflected on the ‘milestone’ of portraying ‘Tajdar’ under Bhansali’s visionary direction in Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar while expressing his gratitude to his biggest supporter – his mother. Taha shared an emotional note describing the endless nights of devotion that ultimately led to this dream coming true. He captioned the post as, “The visionary man of Heeramandi with my biggest supporter.” The portrayal of Tajdar under the direction of the visionary Sanjay Leela Bhansali Sir is a milestone that I will cherish forever. Every image, every scene, every emotion – proof that dreams have come true after endless nights of hustle and bustle. I can’t wait to share this epic saga with all of you on Netflix.”
Speaking of Heeramandi, the web series is set in the pre-independence era and revolves around the lives of courtesans who once had as much power as the reigning queens. The show stars Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Sharmin Segal, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Aditi Rao Hydari and Richa Chadha in the lead roles, along with Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman and Fardeen Khan as Nawabs. The show will premiere on Netflix on May 1st.
