summer house‘S Kyle Cooke On the Bravo series, he memorably screamed, “Summer should be fun,” but his marriage in Season 8 is struggling Amanda Batula have put a damper on his party style.
“I’m having a great summer, but I want to feel like I’m on the same wavelength as Amanda,” admits Kyle, 42 Us weeklyis an exclusive first look at the Thursday, April 11 episode of the series.
Amanda’s long-time best friend Paige DeSorbo jokingly suggests, “I know what you should do, stop being an asshole!” Kyle claims, “I’m not an idiot!”
During their one-on-one conversation, Paige, 31, admits she noticed Amanda, 32, going off on Kyle.
“I do think she starts a lot of things with you. That’s what I told her,” Paige tells Kyle while she’s at a bar. “She’ll throw a few digs at you and I’ll say, ‘Amanda, that sucks.'”
Kyle confides in Paige and tells her that Amanda’s “digs” aren’t the problem. He reveals that he saw Amanda’s phone on the sink a week earlier and when he opened it, “There wasn’t even a single photo of me.”
Paige clarifies that he was referring to Amanda’s camera roll and asks Kyle, “And that hurt your feelings?” Kyle nods and says “Yes” before bursting into tears.
Elsewhere in the clip, Kyle tells the cameras that he knows he has “a lot” to deal with at times, but lately he’s been feeling neglected by his wife.
“I don’t want to sit there scratching my head wondering if you even like me. Or if my presence bothers you,” Kyle says in a confessional, admitting, “But that’s how it often feels.”
Kyle and Amanda tied the knot in September 2021 and were happy during the seventh season of summer house, which was filmed in 2022, Season 8 was a godsend. The couple argued over their desire to move out of New York City and Amanda’s issues with Kyle continuing to stay out late no matter what night of the week.
On the Thursday, April 4, episode of the series, Amanda told her fellow Hamptons residents that she wanted an investment property in New Jersey to escape the city… and her spouse.
“Sometimes I just need to get away from New York,” Amanda said. “So having a place where I can go for a week, two, or a month at a time without my parents being there. [house].”
She explained she didn’t want to start a family in all the hustle and bustle that New York brings, but Kyle insisted it wasn’t time to move.
“I think moving will provide some short-term relief from our current situation, which is a bit of a broken record,” Kyle told the cameras, admitting, “We’re not a well-functioning, well-oiled machine right now.”
After filming wrapped in August 2023, Kyle spoke with Us about his and Amanda’s plans for a house with a garden.
“Our whole life is still here in the city. … Maybe we’ll continue to rent [and] “We’re buying a vacation home or a second home,” Kyle said exclusively Us in February. “We tried to think outside the box because change is exciting and we’ve been living in the same apartment for five years or whatever, six years.”
Earlier this month, Amanda revealed on the show that they were actually looking for a house in the Hamptons to “rent out in the summer,” with New Jersey being more of a long-term goal.
“But the price quickly dashed all my hopes and dreams,” Amanda wrote in an Instagram comment on Friday, April 5, adding that she and Kyle were “sorry to anyone who felt betrayed.” discussed New Jersey, but New York houses toured the earlier episode.
