Sonam Kapoor’s romance with Anand Ahuja has always seemed like something out of a fairytale. And as the couple celebrates their sixth wedding anniversary, the actress didn’t hold back in expressing her adoration for her husband. Taking to social media, Sonam shared a touching tribute to the man who always stood by her and was her strength. Using a collection of never-before-seen photos and videos, she painted a picture of their journey together filled with love, laughter and treasured memories.

In her emotional post, Sonam wrote, “To the love of my life, my everything, happy anniversary. Your unconditional love and support are my anchor and my safe place. Marrying you was the best decision I ever made and every day with you feels like heaven. I love you more than words can express. #everydayphenomenal.” In the photo series, Sonam, Anand and their son Vayu can be seen having a great time together. A few romantic pictures show Sonam hugging Anand tightly and the latter kissing her on the cheek.
While it’s difficult to imagine a time when Sonam wasn’t completely in love with her husband, the actress admitted in an earlier Filmfare interview that she wasn’t initially interested in marriage or a relationship. It was only because of the tactful urging of her friends that she ended up on a date with Anand’s best friend. “My friends tried to set me up with Anand’s best friend. That’s how I met him. I first met Anand when I was busy promoting Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015). One evening my friends persuaded me to visit a bar at the Taj. I went there pretty annoyed,” she said.
Sonam shared that she is not interested in meeting Anand and his friends as she is not open to the idea of dating. “I remember thinking, ‘I don’t want to date anyone.’ I don’t believe in marriage and all that nonsense.’ But then I saw Anand and his friend. His friend was tall like me, loved reading and Hindi films. He was educated and nice, but it was Anand I talked to all night,” she said.
In 2018, Sonam married her long-time partner Anand in a traditional wedding in Mumbai. The couple lives with their son Vayu in a luxurious property in Notting Hill, London.
