Sonakshi Sinha is making waves with her appearance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s new Netflix series ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’. The show features a star-studded cast of leading actresses including Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal and Richa Chadha. This is a significant milestone for Sinha, who shot to fame in the blockbuster opposite Salman Khan Dabangg (2010) 14 years ago.

Since her debut, Sonakshi Sinha has worked hard to avoid being pigeonholed into specific roles. She emphasized her commitment to always improving and breathing new life into her performances, and strived to be the kind of performer that filmmakers could trust with each character. Sonakshi, in a recent conversation with IANS, said, “An actor’s responsibility is to continuously try out different roles and bring innovations in his work.” I believe I have done exactly that since my first solo film Akiraand I would like to consistently maintain this approach.”
She said, “My goal is to be the kind of actor that filmmakers feel confident casting in any role.” That was my goal from the beginning and I believe I have successfully achieved it. I have had the opportunity to portray a wide range of characters, including many strong female roles, which I enjoy immensely.”
The actress describes her 14-year career in Hindi cinema as the “best journey ever”. “I have worked with all kinds of filmmakers. I have done many genres of films. I just explored things as they came to mind and I enjoyed it. To this day, I consider every project I start as my first film and I think that’s what keeps me involved in the process,” she said.
Sonakshi, the daughter of veteran actor Shartughan Sinha, has appeared in films like Vacation, Mission Mangal, Akira, Kalank, Once upon a time in Mumbai Dobaara, Rowdy RathoreAnd boss.
